Found this on Twitter and wanted the OT's thoughts on whether it's an accurate description of the Boomer generation?

Particularly, the points regarding job searching and inflation of education and housing market and the roles its played in the economic growth of latter generations

All true.

My dad's generation. He makes infinitely more than people with his level of education make, but that was the norm, and there are lots of people out there with the same outcome.

Pretty much true.

I sit at work and watch many many many of them walk around, and I always think "man, when the heck are they gonna retire? So I can slide into their job."

I would say so,

And they are mighty defensive about it if you ever call them out for it.

100% true, specifically the comments about job searches, buying first houses, not needing degrees, etc.

Cue the boomers around here to say the younger generations are complaining.

frick the boomers. Worst generation ever.

What's pretty amazing is that they're not retiring fast enough because they had such poor financial planning and didn't save up so they're gonna keep working until they die and fricking over the generations behind them. So we're gonna have to wait until they die off.

frick them.

But I agree with most of this

Any white baby boomer who isn't worth at least $1 million dollars is a fricking dope (I understand if you are African American or Hispanic that there would have been some more hurdles to overcome - especially back in the 60's and thereabouts).

They have had bar none the most unbelievable luck in EVERYTHING and they bitch about EVERYTHING.

I'm kind of pissed that my parents aren't worth $20 million - if you put me in their shoes I'd have been worth $20 million easily by now.

Buy a fricking $25,000 house anywhere in metro NOLA or Metairie 40 years ago and it would be worth at least $400,000 today. Halfway there. Invest a mere $500 in your 401K or IRA from age 20 to 65 and BOOM there's your next $600,000.

Not even addressing social security, salary, etc.

Unbelievable luck. Any schmuck who's enjoyed the roaring stock market, real estate, job security and social security blanket that baby boomers have and isn't a millionare by now is borderline worthless.

I say this meme is total bullshite, but y'all can believe what you want and, for those of you who are begging for the boomers to retire, the vast majority of them have not reached retirment age.

It was the same way for us with the generation before. It's all the same and the generation after you will be waiting for you people to die also.
So, be careful what you wish for it can backfire on you.

It must suck so hard to be gen x, gen y, mellinial. Get your noses out of your phones. Interact and actually talk to people. Have a dream and live it.

This is America, the land of opportunity. I'm a boomer who grew up poor. I now own 3 companies that I created myself. I got no outside help. I'd retire tomorrow if I wanted to, but I'm having way too much fun solving my clients' problems. Making money while doing it is a happy circumstance, but this is a capitalistic society and I profit because of it.

Most of you complaining little sycophants have no idea how lucky you are to be born in America. Most of you are also caucasian. YOU HIT THE MUTHA FLIPPIN' LOTTERY THE DAY YOU WERE BORN!!! Now, do something with your incredible luck.
