The defamation suit is stupid as shite.
And there is nothing wrong with anything they said legally.
The false diagnosis malpractice however is probably a slam dunk.

Light hearted venting/joking about a patient is one thing. But I have to say to anyone reading this. Check out your health care professional before hand if possible. I have a friend who was seen in a urgent care clinic by a female PA. He thought her mannerisms and expertise were off. Chief concerns not re-checked before he left; regarding basic vital signs. He did a quick search and the same womans mug shot was on the internet when she was 28 years old. She was busted in a pill mill clinic and possession of a firearm. The PA was aged and dyed her hair but it was her.
So do hospitals/urgent cares do more background checks than some HR used PI type service offers? The said Physicians assistant had no derogatory remarks on her license, so she is in like flynn as long as she dyes her hair?

Does she now work for LSU?
I just googled looking for more info on the story and found her CV with and LSUHSC address on it.
Not linking it, but it's out there

I'd take $500k to be teased and told I have hemorrhoids any day. Sign me up!

The thing that concerns me the most is a what if:
What if this man had cancer and he heard them saying this stuff along with: nasty comments about how long he had to live or what not?
Also the hemmie part. Why did they HAVE to write anything? Just say unremarkable-clean?

Doctors and health care professionals - this is why the general public generally despises you. We are paying out the arse for your services and we get treated like dogs shite on your shoe.

How much is his lawsuit worth?

There was much more. So the man sued the two doctors and their practices for defamation and medical malpractice and, last week, after a three-day trial, a Fairfax County jury ordered the anesthesiologist and her practice to pay him $500,000.

Technically most of you aren't paying shite for the services and that is part of the problem. The fraudulent documentation was a problem but the bedside manner was not worth 500K. That is yet another problem. An insurance company will pay this and rates will rise...

Well it depends on the state. I'm probably wrong, but wouldn't this fall under medical malpractice? That's capped in LA.

Actually, physician reimbursements are going down across the board. The insurance companies and hospital CEOs enjoy you paying out the arse though. Thanks for your ultimate knowledge on the subject.

o he gets 500k for being a whiny a-hole.
All you people who think that Murca is going to hell in a handbasket, this is the kind of shite you ought to be focusing on.

quote:I worked in an ER for 8 years, I remember a completely passed out naked dude and, no not cool at all, but almost every different type of ER employee you can think of were at some point taking turns going into his room, pulling up the blanket because he supposedly had the longest junk ever. And no I didn't go.
I bet a lot of naked, unconscious, drugged out men weren't showing too well in those cold hospitals
But lots of dudes went, it was supposedly really that freakish.

Eh, the making fun of is whatever, I just kind of assumed that happened with doctors just like waiters....
The avoiding and lying stuff plus a false diagnosis? Yea I'd probably sue over that as well

That dude set them up like a mofo. Probably acted like the biggest dick in the world before the procedure then turned the recorder on. I wish they wouldn't have made up the hemorrhoid diagnosis.

Good. I'm pretty tired of hearing doctors bitch about money while riding around in their S classes on their way to their second beach home.

What planet do,you live on?
Most of us are paying-and it goes up every damn year.
That stupid doctor mouthed off so stop making excuses. $500K is pretty light. She oughta consider herself lucky.
