Find your own fish spin off, guys who pot lick captains the day after a charter.

I've seen it countless times, bring groups of guys on Friday and on Sat they are in your spot or try to get in your boat like your buddies if they don't beat you to it. Buddy brought some guys on Friday behind Timbalier and limited out, next morning he doesn't have his anchor set and the sports are pulling up.

Douche move but not much you can do.
I want to know why so many guys turn fishing, which for me is a relaxing DAY on the water, into an Indy 500 race to see how fast you can limit out.

At least they didn't get there first. I'm split on this as I've often heard guides declaring that the best way to learn an area is to hire a guide. Kinda defeats the purpose of learning an area if you can't use what you learned. However if I were hiring a guide to learn an area I'd be more interested in navigational knowledge, hazards and local land marks not shown on maps. I'd also tell the guide in advance and ask for him to show me popular community holes to get me started in the right direction. And never would I mark a waypoint at someone else's honeyhole, whether it's a professional guide or co-angler, without his knowledge and consent.

I just like steady action and don't mind moving a few times, but some days a quick few limits and back at the camp for breakfast is pretty awesome and relaxing.

Considering the cost of one of those trips, no fricks given

Maybe if I had a camp It would be different. If im at the house and done cleaning by 10:00 that means I have to do honey-do shite.

I would not personally do that. Might make a mental note and try to hit it later in the year or next year when the conditions are the same.. But the next morning first light? That's bush league!

I use charters quite a few times a year for different reasons. We fish spots I already know and the capts I use I either know pretty well or they come highly recommended and they know me. One of the main reasons I personally use a charter once or twice a year is because it's nice being able to ride, fish, drink, be catered to, have someone else clean the fish and not have to worry about the boat. $200-$250 for a trip where all I have to do is show up is well worth the money.
I will admit though, charter capts are some unhappy, grumpy, self righteous assholes. But if you find the right one and become a reoccurring customer/buddy, they can be very resourceful and a pretty good friend.

Get over yourself. Am I supposed to defer to a guide? Are the fish his? The real estate? I would never try to fish on top of anyone, but I've got as much right to fish an area as you do so deal with it.

So many thoughts. Let me start compiling.

Guides are being paid to bring people to the fish, so I don't see any way around it. Sounds like something you just have to deal with as part of the job.
This thinking is why I don't share spots with almost anyone.

Man I hate fishing. People pissed off at the landing, pissed off on the water, and pissed off at the house.
Part of being a good fisherman is being able to catch fish outside of those dozen spots you've caught them before, and not panicking when you see another boat in "your spot"
I'll tell anybody where I caught anything. Odds are I won't be back there for a week anyway.

Down in the marsh maybe there's enough space that it doesn't matter. But go duck hunting in the WMAs around BR and tell everyone your spots and then let me know how your season goes.

Except for my pop. Screw that guy, he lives on the lake, he can find his own fish.

Did they not pay you money for 2 days to show them where the fish are? I'd say you got the better end of the deal unless that's your only hotspot. If that's the case you need to find another line of work.
