I guess my overall sentiment is rather than seeing Cinderellas castle, why not go to an actual castle? Instead of going to Epcot and getting "authentic food from _____", why not go abroad and actually see it in real life? Just my .02¢.

Well, a family of 4 can go to Disney for a little over $2K. That won't even get that family across the pond.

Been twice in my life. I want to go with my wife now.

Who cares if they go every year. It's their freaking vacation. Mine your own business.

I believe venturing out meeting people from different areas while adventuring to the beautiful landscapes of the USA to be the best thing we can do as people and parents. And as a nation.

I have relatives that have gone every year since I was little. I went with them once when I was 7 or 8 years old. I remember having a good time there then. Seems like if you see it more than two or three times, it would get boring.

I know some folks who go there with their adult children, but I'm unsure what the appeal is at my age. Is there anything interesting for grown ups there?

Eating and drinking in Epcot can be pretty fun. No driving anywhere either, so that's a good perk.

Disney is great but nothing beats my Season Passes to Blue Bayou.

Throw in the summer concert series and it's the best bang for my family's entertainment buck.

Literally the whole place can be for adults if you're not a miserable human being.

Congrats on wasting your money. They won't even appreciate and respect the sights they're seeing. Wait until the kid is a teenager and has a better sense of awareness.

All of you who seem to think a 6, 7, 8, 9 yr old can't remember any vacation or trip that isn't Disney World are a bunch of morons. My parents took my siblings and I all over the world when we were kids and I remember almost all of it and enjoyed most of it. DC, Rocky Mountains, Alaska, San Francisco, NYC, New England, Virginia. Smokies, Carribean, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Belgium, Norway, The Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, Carribean, and yes even Disney World twice. I have so many great memories from these trips and many tours inspired my curiosity and love of history and learning.

A kid can actually enjoy and remember other experiences that don't involve a mouse and princesses.
The traveling I was lucky enough to be able to do really helped me in school too. It was awesome having been to many of the places in my history books. I'm sorry most of you were tards who couldn't remember anything before the age of 13.

My wife and I go every year with her family. We venture off by ourselves a bit and eat at some of the nicer restaurants. There's a ton of stuff to do and only some of it is actually geared to small children. I get that people don't like Disney. It's not for everyone. What I don't get even more though is why people go out of their way to hate the place.

How does someone live on the west bank or stay a lawyer as long as you?

Didn't think it was all that great when I was a kid. Can't imagine as an adult.

None of us really loved it the one time my family went either. Dad thought it was overpriced and said he never plans to go back.. Mom is indifferent.. and my brother and I were still at the age where rides terrified us, and my Dad was a dick about forcing us on them

I'd go back just to see it as an adult where I can enjoy it more.. preferably during Food and Wine Festival. That said, it isn't in any plans anytime soon. I'd think I'd have to already be in the area or snag a cheap Orlando flight or something.

I don't really care what vacations people choose to spend their money on, but I do agree it is a bit odd for adults to be outright obsessed with. Getting married there/honeymooning there would not be something I would be even remotely interested in doing. Hell, I'd rather honeymoon down the street in New Orleans than in Disney.

People are different.

They like different kinds of music.
They like different movies.
They like different cars.
They like different pets.
They like different cities to live in.

Oh, and they like different vacations.

If it's too complicated for you, you can read my post twice.

Hope that helps.

People have a freakishly unhealthy obsession with Disney. I don't get it. I am an adult with no children. I have no desire to go there but friends beg to go every year. Grow the eff up! I am sure I will eventually give in and go once but they better appreciate it because it wont happen again. The worst are the people who post constant Disney memes on Facebook about how they wish they were there and start countdowns and shite to their Disney vacation. Sick sick people.

I'm in Orlando for a week every year and we usually squeeze in 2 days since I have kids who are at the age to enjoy it.

Also go to Cape Canaveral as well. The tour is nice and if you can be in the vicinity for a night launch, it's pretty cool.

I also lived in Orlando for 2 years, too.

..and it's one of many vacations we take as a family.

I went to Grande Isle on the same weekend every year from age 4-20 with my parents, so I'm not hating on the Disney thing

Yeah, some people think its cool to dress their whole family in purple and gold from head to toe and go to LSU stuff all year.
Some people are beach nerds.

Different strokes for different folks
