I guess McKay & Taylor are gone before ever seeing Alex Box...

Yep dont expect either in, Lochridge will also be one to watch very close, I think he's our starting SS next season if he makes it in.

Possibly. However, Latz turned down as much or more than they are likely to be offered. Depends on their circumstances and desires. Great recruiting class again, with or without them. LSU will have the best pitching staff in the country going into next season if Latz returns to form as expected.

I was just going to ask, what are the chances Lochrige makes it to campus if he ends up being picked around where he is projected? Lochrige, Byrd, and Deichman would solidify our middle infield for a few years.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know Jacob Taylor was that highly sought after

Today is draft day! Will be interesting to see where some of our guys might go.
Today is only through Competitive Balance Round B, so only 75 picks will be happening tonight. Good chance only Bregman comes off the board.

Love the optimism but the Aggies will have just an incredible group. Again not trying to burst your bubble, also in regards to the draft, really looking at where Laird gets drafted. Hope he comes back but not holding out.

Glad Bregman finally got a hit (1 for 16). He'll do so much better in the Big Show.

Chinea will get drafted top 10 rounds. Hell he was ranked top 225 at start of year.

Yep I saw the McKay article already, and like usual you have to see that as a leverage tactic. Teams are willing to meet his number so it looks like he's trying to up the ante. Like I've maintained all along, it is NEVER a good idea to expect these types of kids to make it to campus.

How hard does McKay throw?

Taylor will likely not show up here. I hear January is also likely to be an easy sign too.

Great work thunder. Are you going to do a draft thread with the picks as they come?

No ones going to get their hopes up if either does sign but don't count McKay out just yet. Every year players rise and fall based on professional teams wants and needs.
Remember Lange, Latz, Papierski, Deichmann, Godfrey were never thought to make it to campus but they did.
Jacob Taylor in my opinion won't be a tough sign, I could see a team taking in rounds 3-5.

Is Ryan January eligible for draft this year?
I know he reclassified because he was supposed to be part of 17 class but does reclassifying make you eligible for baseball draft.
It's a little bit different than what Barash did coming out of high school when he came to LSU mid term in the spring.

Not sure Lochridge projects at SS, Dawson is the one they want at SS
Posted on 6/8/15 at 11:53 am to nicholastiger
Yes, after reclassifying he is a senior so he is eligible.

Lochridge has the ability to fill out and become a 3B also
