I dont really bass fish too much but i caught this ~5lber this weekend on a 1 acre pond at the deer camp. I threw her back but have been kicking myself ever since for bot keeping it for the wall. I know its nit a 10 lb lunker but with how little freshwater fishing i do it could be awhile until i catch one this size again. What do yall think is the smallest size thats mount worthy

10 lbs
and even then I probably wouldn't mount it because my wife would never let it in the house

Not one that came out of a pond, being that it was probably stocked.
......but that's totally up to you.
I'd go with 7+ depending on what it looked like (big ole fatty and/or bucket mouth). I'd take a 10+ feebie from Toledo Tackle any day tho.

8lbs up from ponds and 10lbs. up from any lake bigger than 60 acres. Kinda been my rule of thumb

I've caught a couple 6's. Wouldn't mount one smaller than 8

6-7# on any of the local water
8-9# on a trophy lake
10# on a stocked pond and I'd get a replica

I like dead stuff hanging on the wall. If your proud of it, then mount it.

Whatever makes you feel good. If you're proud of it and think it will look good on the wall, then by all means, mount it. There are probably quite a few fish smalller than that mounted.
Also, get a replica made.

8 lbs for me, but then again, that's why I don't have one on the wall lol..
But I agree... If you are proud of it, and wife will let it hang on the wall, go for it.

IMO this is the correct answer. Take some pics, get some measurements and order one....win-win

When I have kids, the first one they catch will be mounted

10 lbs. 9 lbs if it's an exceptionally good looking fish.

Wouldn't mount anything from a pond.
My pops and I talked about this this weekend.
Eat anything under 3-4lbs.
Take pictures and throw back anything 4-8lbs.
Mount first fish over 8lbs, and first fish over 10lbs. Then keep pictures of others.
All applies unless in a tourney.

12 lb. but I probably wouldn't because it's expensive and I wouldn't want it in my house.

I really don't know. Wish I would have had a scale with me at IC two years ago. That fish was a beauty. Current fish on wall was only 7-2, but it was mid summer, and she was poor. Ended up looking great. Over 10, and I am going to be tempted. No replica either unless eligible for a lunker program.
