Historically Housen has always been a hot area since the 70's so that a mute point.
Actually have found better and more grass on LA side so far this spring.

Been using the same rechargeable Klien headlight for about 3 years now. amazing batt life, Bright as hell and 3 diff settings. I had it on this season from dark to 2:30 am constant tracking a deer and it never blinked. When it give up ill no doubt buy another one.
Agree, Lacassine should have went back slow, 3 Bass w/ 1 over 3lb would have been a good option for this season. Then another reevaluation.
naw forget that idea. Go find some grass and fish the outside line(deep side) as it follows the bank. Troll of you know how to do that with a chartreuse and blue, green, or black jig. You'll find em. If you cant troll then stay off and cast to edge of gras and retrieve slow letting it fall and pop it a lil. after about 3- foot from grass reel in and do it again. work those grass lines. Plenty stacked up for another couple weeks specially with rain and a cool snap coming they gonna stage up and suspend around that grass.
naw baw, its sucked for a few years now. Woodies is about it. Scuap and redheads hardly show up, what few Canvasbacks show up come late late. Also dont have the coots like we used to. Sucks Hay Day of the bend are long gone. Unless you wanna chase tame Canadians
50 limit of WP each day this weekend, Bass are about all done in the shallows, maybe a few buck bass around...most decent bass are on the early shad spawn suspended around balls of them. Chased some early yesterday and picked up 11 then caught our WP real quick and came home.

40 volume peroxide from hair products store ...mix with baking soda and water to make a wet paste. USE GLOVES. apply paste let set in the sun(heat intensifies reaction) 30-1 hr. rinse clean and apply a second time to spots needed if necessary. rinse good when finished and you're done.

Same I start with AC Leggs #10 as my base and add things. I put half a big bottle(5 oz) of zydeco chop chop to each 25# batch of sausage

its good to know your way around if not stick the channel markers. Hurricanes have left a lot of debris that folks still hit and when tide is out creates low spots and humps in the lake that will kill al lower off

He was told we was being let go at lunch yesterday. You are only just finding out. He asked to have time to talk with his family, agent and friends and get back to them before an official statement was made.

re: Swarm trapping bees

Posted by OleBallCoach on 3/13/26 at 8:29 am to
No, have 5 on our 1600 acre and I've moved them around with no luck for a few years. I've had to actually open the top and shake the bees down into the swarm box every time or locate the queen and trap her inside for a few hours. We have tried everything short of that. I've placed them right under or beside swarms with zero luck, Sunday we rode up on a swarm we went and grabbed a trap, spread some fresh honey on and in it and left to go fish the creek, came back 2 hours later and nothing. They had cleaned up the honey and left. Ran to the barn and grabbed a hive base and shook them down into it. They stayed, went back this week before the rain and put a super on it. Looks like they are happy. But if these swarm traps don't catch again this season I'm gonna sale them or reconstruct them for a hive. Just fyi we have 11 total hives on the property, we usually can catch about 5-6 swarms a year and sale the hive. if you check your hives ever couple days with a drive by for the next month to 6 weeks you'll catch when they are about to swarm.

I carry a glock 19x on a magnet under my dash on right side of steering wheel by my right knee. Also have this rack on head rest. .300blkout SBR with an eotech and suppressed. Second hole usually run a 6.5 grendel with a thermal and suppressed.

Head rest rack

Are we passing on the exact pitch we need to swing at? I know and understand the philosophy of taking pitchers as deep as possible for pitch count and to see what should be a better pitch to hit. But this weekend really highlighted for me that 2 or 3 of the first pitches thrown to our batters were sometimes right down the middle at 84-87mph. We almost always looked to be in a "take" position/situation/stance. Have teams learned to take that gamble with us? That we are so vested in this philosphy we rarely walk up a full go at bat?

Pioneer 500 headache rack setups

Spam me those homemade headache rack options for the Honda Pioneer 500. Want something that I can slide machete in, hang limb clippers, hold some straps, tools and various outdoor gear maybe strap my climber too. Just want all that out of the back bed and organized somewhat on a headache rack system.

Your correct just taking the pop out of supersonic ammo does make it difficult to pinpoint at times. I'm just different, anonymity when I'm in the public woods is important to me. I take some sick precautions at times.....but then again. My wall is full of reasons

Yep have a .300bkout and a 6.5 grendel under thermals and we use subs all the time for hogs. no real issues under 150. But I'm also not looking to make shots and trail them, neck and head area. Decent penetration I'm not mad about it. Wife shoots a .308 close to our property line and I make her take subs when she hunts that stand not to alert the neighboring lease we are there. She has a 132" 8 on the wall from 2 years ago. High Shoulder popped the top of the left lung and lodged in lower spine. Didn't leave. I'm good with what I'm giving up when taking into consideration where I want to be and not want others to know on public. it's a specific case by case, setup type situation. Not about to try and take a unethical shot with subs. I'm aware of where the bullet needs to be to kill the animal.
