Yeah, he definitely fits the mold of a modern score first PG. I see him playing 2 as well though in the league.

Obviously Okafor doesn't have the height of Yao, but I think he has similar hips and lateral movement. But maybe the height was what made Yao serviceable in the end. Like I said, I don't like Okafor. I would be really frustrated to see him on my team. I think he is the type of player that can hold a team back for years. He will be good enough to tease you though.

His former assistant took over for him basically once Towns was done playing for the team.

I actually remember that asst playing ball back in the day. and Cal had him some Puerto Ricans back in the Camby/ Lou Roe days at UMass. Cal's been on that untapped Hispanic market lol.

I think they have a kid from New Zealand committed to play there. I didn't even know they played basketball in New Zealand.

I like Russell a lot, with his size, jump shot, and passing ability agree there is very little bust potential. But he has questions- defense, ok athlete who doesn't get to the rim/free throw line as much as you'd like. I had to nitpick to include him, if he was projected just a few spots lower I wouldn't see an issue.

d'angelo also struggles when going up against athletic defenders. i like him and i think hes the best 1 guard in the draft but theres a reason why i think you pass on him if you can grab okafor or KAT

I'm not sold on KAT. I think he is limited physically, which in today's NBA, doesn't fly.

Workout over. Towns one of the most freakishly talented bigs I've ever seen. Not sure what his weakness is in this setting.

WCS shot it impressively today. Heard he often did the same in UK practices. If he can get that down consistently in a game setting, wow

Russell does everything well. Shoots it. Great handle. Very intelligent. Super impressive competitor.

I love the Russell fit in Philly

I didn't think Russell noticeably struggled with more athletic defenders. He always got the shots he usually took. His touch was just off some nights (Arizona is a pretty good example).

Like KC said earlier, he played with a bunch of scrubs. It will be fun to see what he can do with big guys that can actually catch.

that was just what i read from a scouting report, but that could have just come from how poorly he played against good teams

You do recognize that Deandre Jordan averaged 7.9 and 6.0 in college, right?

Deandre was a second round pick, wcs is likely to go in the top 10. I think wcs offensive game will be much more similar to Joakim Noah than deandre Jordan

There's way too many games in a season for me to remember everything. Just off the top of my head, VCU is a pretty damn athletic team and he made them look stupid.

I do recall struggles against some of the better teams he played but I would attribute that more to having zero help. He turned piss into wine.

I do know that Yao (when healthy) was able to have quite the defensive presence, and I think that is what Okafor needs to try to be. Jeff Van Gundy probably deserves a ton of credit for making Yao a very serviceable low post defender though.

You mean Tom Thibodeau.
