What percentage of ski boat or jetski operators display good etiquette?

As a sneak boat fisherman, I have begun to dislike both of these groups (though I know there are some good ones, probably on this board). Wake in no wake zones, blasting by a a high rate of speed at too close a distance, hogging the ramps, etc.
My little boat can go places they can't dream of, so I guess that will be my plan from now on. Or just hit other spots in the mornings when their dbag asses are still asleep.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent.

Ski Boat:
Historically (my experiences from 1980's-1990's): 75%
Currently: 0% (Ski boat operators are now made up of arseholes who grew up operating jet skis.)
Jet Ski:
Historically and currently: 0%

I love watching jet ski people try to steer away from something without touching the throttle

Serious ski boat people will drive the boat extremely well and cautiously cause no one wants to get hurt while wake boarding or skiing. However, a lot of them drive like complete douches

Same percentage as the percentage of bicyclists obeying traffic laws, very low.

a true direct drive ski boat - probably 98%
A Tahoe/ bayliner / outdrive - probably 5%
Jet ski - .1%
and thats coming from a ski/wake boat driver

Most people on the water don't know what the frick they are doing. The things that piss me off:
If I am stopped (fishing or just hanging out) and you are passing, either keep your speed or drop to idle. Your dumb arse dropping to half throttle throws twice the wake that you were throwing on plane
get the frick away if I have a skier/kneeboard/wakeboard behind me
I wanted to shoot a flare gun at a boat yesterday. I had fallen on the kneeboard and the wife had pulled the boat back around for me to get in when a boat pulling a tube decided to do a round of circles around us twice, throwing up a clusterfrick of a wake with myself and the rope in the water when they had the entire river

I think lots of bad boatmanship comes from people that were not taught rules of the waterway and how to operate watercraft. Powerboats and jetskis are probably one of the most common entry boats with pontoon boats...

I agree 100% with this
There is a difference between a group of skiers and a group just out there to show off the boat and loud music

As a fisherman you have to tolerate them, and I don't mind the waves, as long as they give me a little room.
Several years ago there were a couple of young punks circling my boat wide open while laughing and pointing. I was out in the main lake, and knew there would be the recreational traffic, but I tried my best to hook them with a DD22. They may have changed their attitude if I'd connected.
So I'd say 5%

I know it's not popular here, but I believe that operating watercraft should require at least one 5 hour course on boating and a license.

You should include Fishing boats in your percentages as well....I have seen just as poor etiquette from that community as well..
