It's hard to see my friend Pedro's ride but it's got foot pegs and it can do some sweet jumps.

What's the "ergonomics" like on a tri bike? If I ride on the drops for a while on my road bike (5 or so miles straight), I get a back ache. Are you able to put support on the aero bars enough to help with that? Can't really put to much weight on your hands in the drops or my hands go numb after a while. I've just seen so many tri bikes with the bars dropped so far below the saddle that it just looks uncomfortable to ride.

Yes, I had a fitting. You still have to support your weight with your abs/back in the aero position. You aren't supposed to be handling all that weight on your arms hands. So I may be in the right position "fit wise", but I'm not that strong "core wise". If I lock my arms out and support all my weight in any position (on the hoods or in the drops), I won't be able to feel my hands by mile 10.
I've actually started working out and am concentrating on my core more than I ever have specifically to make it easier when I'm riding my bike.

You need a bike geometry suited to your body style..not all bikes fit all people. I couldn't ride a lemond for instance.
Also racing bike <> road bike even though they look identical. Racing bikes are more uncomfortable by design because of the more aggresive geometry.
I have a beater AL specialized I use to race crits. If I try using it for a 70 mike club ride my hands are numb and my back hurts like a mofo. Carbon or TI is what you want on a tri/TT bike you plan to train on.

Is that new talon a 650b or 29er still?

I guess I was just wondering how much more comfortable it was being in the aero position on aero bars compared to a typical road bike. Does it help with get in that aero position while reducing the back pain, etc. Or does it just let you get really low and you have to man up and get in shape for that. Like I said, I watched an Ironman this weekend (bikes passed right by my house). It was not uncommon at all to see people on bikes with drops like below. My back hurt just thinking about riding that and these people were passing me at mile 100 pushing 25+ mph. Made me feel out of shape

I find riding the drops to be pretty comfortable but the TT bike I have is very dialed in.
It's definitely not a social bike in any way. I don't even notice trees on the sides of the road when I'm on it

Last bike I had was a Mongoose Menace. That bitch was bad
