Fleas have the potential to be really bad this year (like all years) due to high humidity and the warm rainy days that will provide optimum conditions for many to hatch.

I've done my research and am here to help you save money.

At 1800PetMeds, for a 6 pack of Comfortis for dogs weighing 10-20 lbs., the price is $94.99 and perhaps even higher at your local vet.

At Pet-i-Supply.com this same 6 pack of Comfortis sells for $56.95, plus $3.99 for shipping. At Pets-megastore.com.au Comfortis is even cheaper. Same product sells for $48.01, plus $4.82 for shipping.

Big difference. So what's the difference? Pet-i-Supply is not located in the United States and delivery for medication can take up to two weeks to receive. If you plan ahead, the savings can be very real, especially if you have more than one dog.

For Trifexis for Dogs - 21 - 33 lbs, 1800PetMeds want $114.99 (20 to 40 lbs) for a 6 pack. Online at Pet-i-Supply.com, the price is $76.95 (21 -33 lbs), plus $3.99 for shipping. Again, real savings if you plan ahead.

I get mine from my vet. It costs more, but after all they've done for me and my animals, I don't mind putting a few extra $$ in their pocket.

My vet told me that the drug companies only guarantee the drug when sold by a vet, so if your dog has a reaction, you're SOL vs if you buy it at a vet clinic, you may have some recourse.

I've also heard stories that those companies sell expired drugs or give "replacement" drugs.

I buy from my vet because they somehow manage to get that vile smelling pill down the dog's throat, something I can't seem to be able to do. It's worth a few bucks not to have to deal with that.

I use petbucket.com out of the UK, but same principle. Takes about a month from my Revolution but is half the price

I just give my two Goldens Ivomec. It's the cheapest heartworm solution there is for dogs.

My vet matches online prices, but only sells Frontline. We use K9 Advantix II and it's well priced on Amazon.
