Will this effect LSU sports in any way? That's the only thing I care about.

90% will be liberal arts students who are pissed that the school might cut their "Medieval sign language" classes.

Hopefully many appropriate LSU co-eds will use this time to also get onto the freethenipple bandwagon.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Glad to see students using dead week (concentrated study period the week before finals) for this nonsense. We all know who will be the ones showing up. Hint, it won't be the students who take classes that require preparation for final exams or group projects.

Can't make it that day, some students have finals, ya heard? Let's reschedule - I'll call the other guy who's going.

Attended the exact same rally back in either '91 or '92, Edwards' last term.

Higher Ed was gonna get cut 110 million. Looking back, that was peanuts.

Grambling students were there at the Capitol wearing t-shirts that said "the blacker the college, the sweeter the knowledge."

Good good times.

Banning any member of this legislature and their direct decendants from attending any LSU sporting event for life may get a tad more accomplished.

Same here. Based on that experience, I will tell you what will happen on April 30.

There will be a few thousand LSU faithful there, and who knows... maybe Southern will show up, too. The LSU band will probably be there.

There will be some local media, and the usual gaggle of capitol press crops will step outside of a look or two. It will be a minor mention in their regular daily report of goings on at the legislature.

The SGA president will speak. King Alexander or somesuch will speak. The state rep, but not the senator from 70808 will speak. Maybe if you're lucky Jay Dardenne will speak.

The governor will not be there. Nor anyone that will answer any of the questions you have. In fact, the political leeches in the senate and house no more than 100 yards away will still be talking amongst themselves, ignoring your protest.

It will feel good for about five minutes to vent your frustration, and absolutely nothing will happen as a result of the rally. I don't say this to discourage you... I'm just telling you how very little your legislators will care about what you are doing, because none of it personally affects them.

If you want to get a politician's attention, you have to get in the way of one of three things. First, their flow of money. Second, their acquisition of position. Thirdly, their prospects of getting laid.

If it doesn't affect any of those things, your protest will be ineffective.

If you haven't done so yet... I urge EVERYONE. EVERYONE. To go to the house and/or senate while the legislature is in session. Just go. Once. All you have to do is go once, because you will be so disgusted you will never return. It is the state's greatest collection of shysters, grab-assers and morons you have ever seen, and they are all having the time of their lives talking amongst themselves and not getting one single fricking thing done.

Getting their attention is like trying to gain the focus of a 5 year old with ADD. Unless you are waving candy in front of them or taking it away, you don't stand a chance.
