Don't remember Gus's. Thought it started as Vince Sotiles first?

That sounds right but was before my time

The Place was on Florida, near Foster Drive

Do you also own rib and chop house in billings, montana and miles city? I love that place

Gus's was Gus Piazza's attempt at "upscale." It was originally Vince Sotile's, though.

I do not remember a restaurant on Airline. Tomorrow I will ask TJ.
The restaurants out west are called Montana's Rib and Chop House.
There was no "special deal" with TJ, and if anyone knows TJ, he never gives special deals.
Ninfas corporation has basically folded up their franchises part of their company. We have done a better job working on consistency. Javier and his team are working hard to provide the guest with a great experience. If your experience is subpar, please write a review on our website or contact a manager. We will correct what is wrong for future guests, and if you provide a reciept, we will refund your money. Going on to a food review website anonymously makes it difficult to contact the guest and refund their money.

How often do you think these requests are genuine?
On a side note, youve had a very good approach to this site. Recently some business owners have been on the opposite end of the spectrum

I agree. Beauxnes was the same way on this site. A pleasure reading Montana's posts.

We don't worry about being scammed. We are more concerned with guest being satisfied after a poor experience.
Beauxnes and I are both from the School of TJ. Quite a few local operators have TJ owned restaurants their résumé.

Thought Vince Sotile's was on Staring right at Highland, behind what is now George's Southside? Did he move out to the end of Highland? I would have lost track, that was outside of 70808.
And yeah, I've had TJ's cater some events for me over the years and it's always been a very good experience. I especially enjoyed working with Miranda(?) who was Apple Sanders' daughter when she moved from Ruffino's to TJ's.

Thanks for "showing your face" on the FB. I like Ninfa's and as summertime is approaching, look forward to Sunday afternoon Ninfatini's. It's the best drink in town.. Just make sure those and the Fajitas Chihuahua keep rolling and I'm happy.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic about the "special" deal.

You're a class guy, Burke, to face the haters and not get your feathers ruffled. I worked for you and your Dad about 25 years ago. I had a high opinion of you then and it still holds true. I hope all is well.

I don't remember Gus's but Gus Piazza's other place was called Phil's Oyster Bar and it was on Concord off College Drive after he moved from Govt. Street. He never had a place called Gus's.
And the building he moved into on Concord was built by the people who owned Ruby's, which was under the overpass where Georges is now. Smokey bought the place and named it Georges after his father who was a railroad engineer-which is why the railroad pictures are on the wall. The people who owned Ruby's were doing so well they wanted a bigger place and as is typical-they built it and promptly went out of business.

Ruby's didn't promptly go out of business. To the contrary, they stayed nearly another 15 years. The family simply grew tired of running a restaurant 7 days a week. Great plate lunches.
Some might remember, the owner even fended off would-be robbers, shooting a few and getting wounded, himself, in the process.

My thoughts exactly. montana has done good and some other owners could learn a lesson or two.

Thank you Jimbeaux. That is quite a compliment coming from a restaurant owner. My wife and I enjoyed your seafood restaurant on Government Street.
I have ask TJ about the restaurant on Highland and Airline, but no response.
When TJ opened his first Ruth's Chris on Airline, in 1975, I'm sure he stopped by to have a drink or two on his way home.
