Short weekend in DC...must do?

Will be in DC all day Saturday and half day Sunday. Since I won't have time to see and do everything, what are some must do things?

Grab a burger at Clyde's in Georgetown for lunch.

I'll assume you've never been and say walk through the National Mall to see all the usual monuments and buildings and also go to the Arlington Cemetery.

The Anacostia neighborhood is beautiful this time of year.

Can't do any Smithsonian's because they take almost an entire day each. Just go hit the monuments and shite. Arlington Cemetery is cool too.

We spent pretty much our entire time in Georgetown this past Christmas break and Georgetown has some insanely good food. Try Unum. Try the short rib cheese fries as a side. Will be enough for the entire table.

Honestly, since you only have two days, it really depends on your interests. I would hit the museums you think you'll enjoy. And if you have kids or a wife with you, hit up the zoo.

Go to the White House and tell BHO he's fricking up.

I'm headed to DC next weekend for a little Saturday-Tuesday trip. I've never been before. We are staying in Arlington at the Residence Inn Capital View, looks really nice. Planning on going to the cemetery, National Mall, Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol, and Smithsonian. Anyone have any other recommendations? I am a big tripadvisor user so plan on hitting up their top items.

What are you interested in? Food? Museums? Bars?

Given your short amount of time, I'd do the following in this exact order:
Saturday:
Changing of the guard ceremony at Arlington.
Sit at the Lincoln Memorial for 30 minutes and just take in the amount of people and diversity that passes thru there. Hit the Vietnam Memorial on your way out.
See Old Glory at the American History museum or the Declaration of Independence at the National Archives.
Go to the walk-up line at the Capital and take a tour.
Catch a show at the DC Improv that night.
Sunday:
Go to Mass at a cathedral of your choice. Rent a bike and cover some ground. Sight see and just take it all in.
You don't have a lot of time - you need to stick and move.

Ford's theater doesn't take long and it is pretty interesting to see where Lincoln was shot. The holocaust museum is great but you can easily spend two days in there alone.

It's going to be a rainy, cool weekend here (upper 40s) so outdoor activities might not appeal. Air and Space Museum is wonderful, as is the National Cathedral (they now charge admission at the Cathedral unless you are there to worship /how they know is beyond me). I would stay out of Anacostia and I would not be out late at night if you don't know your way around. Other than that, have a great time!

Not sure what you're down with doing, but if you are looking for social things, I'd check out brightest young things. They do a pretty good job of letting people know what's going on.

Go to old Town alexandria. Hit up virtue feed and grain for lunch and drinks.

Lived up there over the summer. The Newseum was one of the coolest things I did.
Also, if you are there on Friday, call your local congressman or senator and their office will give you a free tour of the Capitol building. No lines. Skip the video, it is a waste of time.
