I hope we see more of this style of architecture in Louisiana. Tired of the old stale architecture.

In a historic area of Baton Rouge, a growing family sought to expand their home and reconnect it to its beautiful natural surroundings. The original house, built in a traditional style, offered poor visual and physical access to the property’s numerous amenities: a pond, chicken coups, garden, a large oak tree, and extensive open landscape. The family asked the designers and builders of +one design & construction for easier movement between indoors and outdoors while crafting an open interior with contemporary features and comforts. Lastly, as the family frequently hosts guests for grilling and socializing, the renovation would have to entail a new outdoor kitchen and patio.

Where exactly is this?

I like that, except for the kitchen... feels too sterile.

All that glass will be great during hurricane season.

I've never known of a single window in Baton Rouge to ever get blown out in a hurricane.

Isn't this house off highland?

I always love the look of these places in photos but then I think about living in it and it loses its appeal. Give me "traditional" and comfy any day of the week over that. Those square cement benches for instance. Looks cool but I would rather have a padded lounger to sit in while sipping a brew.

I guess tempered glass is a new concept to you

i like modern concepts, but not this one.... too uninviting looking... just not my taste, but whatever...

there is a similar looking home on Goodwood, IIRC.

Is it just me or does that island countertop seem pretty high?

exactly.... looks "sleek", but harsh... it doesn't have a "welcoming" nature to it at all....

I think so too. I'd sit and watch the hurricane come through with a badass view.

You've never seen a piece of flying debris go through a window in BR during a hurricane?

Interesting design, but not my cup of tea at all.
