o but I completely checked out of one once I realized I didn't want to work there and it was obvious the woman giving the interview googled "Good Interview Questions" to conduct the interview.

We must have interviewed at the same place. I shut down one time in an interview. I went into interview with the guy, and I get in his office and it was very strange. 1st, the chair i was sitting in was on the side of his desk, so i had to turn to talk to him. 2nd, 2 other people were in the interview and one was sitting on the side of me, and one sitting behind me. Felt like i was about to get wacked. And 3rd, they started with the "stock" interview questions, such as "what is your greatest strength" "what is your greatest weakness" "what was the most challenging situation you have been in in your professional career". Once i realized they were too damn lazy to talk to me like a person, and instead read from a sheet the stock questions they printed, i shut down and gave them yes, no answers.

A week later i interviewed with another company and i accepted. They talked to me like a person, and was actually interested in me working there. They didn't treat me like i wanted a job, but like i wanted a career.

If i ever go on an interview again, and they ask me stock questions, i will stop the interview and ask them to talk to me like a person.

I've never had to write anything for an interview, but I did have a 2 hour interview that concluded with me having to give a 15 minute impromptu speech. I kinda freaked out for a moment when they told me about it, but I got the job in the end, so I guess they couldn't tell how freaked out I really was.

In college, I answered an add for a sales job. Turned out to be a mass interview for selling something. About 5 minutes into the speech that was being given to myself and 10-15 other people, I stopped the speaker and asked what were we going to be selling. He said that we would cover that later, so I got up and walked out. Never found out what it was, but I think it was knives or something along those lines.

Yeah me and a buddy applied for a job listing in the paper for $1,500 a week. We get there and they put us in a room with about 30 others. Go through several hours of bullshite w/o telling you what the job entails. Everybody breaks for lunch and the ones they want to offer get a call at lunch telling them to come back that afternoon to get started. Went back and it was door to door vacuum selling. We got up and walked out.

Never walked out of an interview but I HAVE completely shut down during one when I realized I didn't want the job. I also got suckered into this group interview once for some insurance company in New Orleans and there was a lil hottie in the group that got my attention. We chatted each other up after and I asked her out for a drink. Left the interview and followed her to her apartment so "she could change" and we fricked. She gave me her number afterwards and I left. Never even made it to the bar. Lol

You're so full of shite. Who the frick would even consider wasting their time selling insurance?

Was cold called by a pretty large brokerage wanting me to take over a brokerage that was vacated by a friend of mine. They were calling people from that town that had their series 7 license.

I had just bought my current house (which was over an hour away and also in 2009 when housing was getting destroyed). The guy tried to convince me by telling me what they would pay me and I laughed at him as is was a fraction of what I was making.

Never walked out but I basically "gave up" once. The questions were very corny.. those abstract HR trainee type questions. One after another and from different people.

It was extremely hot that day in Austin, like 110 or so. Felt like 140 walking in the parking lot to their office in a full suit.

Just a miserable experience all around.

Say you interview for a job, but you find out the salary is just too low or insulting. Ever just up and leave? Do you feel bad or awkward about it?

I interviewed to become a department head last summer, the salary to take the job was about 50% of what I requested so I just cut off the interview and left. Waste of time.

I walked into an interview set up by an employment agency.

While I was waiting to be interview, a young guy sitting off to the side asked, "Did _____ send you from the agency?" I told him yes and he said, "Tell her that they lied to me about the pay and I'm not making what they promised."

Before I could walk out, the interviewer steps out and greets me.

So, knowing that I didn't want the job, I gave the best interview in history. No pressure, I just dazzled the guy with bullshite and promises. When I called into the agency she asked me, "What the hell did you do on that interview? He wants you to start immediately!"

When I moved North and was between jobs in the Pharma Industry I interviewed for a rep job with a home health care organization. Ten minutes into the interview I realized that the hiring manager and her boss were loons.

As tactifully as I could, I told them that I didn't think that I was the right fit for their organization and that I really didn't want to waste their time. They seemed a bit put off.

I got a pissed call from the recruiter and I told him I just couldn't work for people like that. I think he understood. He later placed me with Genentech.
