This. I interviewed for a hospital IT position, but found the offer too low. I politely declined the offer. While interviewing at my current job, a guy recognized me from the hospital interview. Be careful about how you present yourself.

When I first graduated college one of the first interviews I had was for a company I had never heard of and the position title was "account manager".
I wasn't really sure what the job was for but I went on the interview anyway. It wasn't 'til someone took me out in their car that I realized it was doing door to door sales.
I told them with all due respect, the job just wasn't for me and I did not want to waste any more of their time.

I had a sit down with her and told her she needed to forget everything about her ex and my ex or things would never work. Told her I was committed but if she wasn't then she needed to GTFO. She chose to stay and told me I was right about everything I called her out on. I know you suggested she was cheating but that's not the case, like really.
The OT will be the first to know if things turn sour again. Because I won't give it another chance if it comes to that point again.

I haven't just up and left one, but once when the "so does this sound like something you'd be interested in" question came up, I told the guy I appreciated his time, but it wasn't what I was looking for and we broke off the interview at that point.
I was also in between jobs once and took a "warehouse supervisor" job. Although it didn't come to light during the interview process, the only person I was supervising was myself, and I was packing and unpacking boxes all day. After I finished the third day, I went in and told the guy who hired me it wasn't working out and wasn't something I was interested in doing. I told him don't worry about paying me for the three days of work, that I considered it a valuable learning experience. I started the graduate school application process the next day.

same here, really thought about leaving though since they had lined me up for an entire day of interviews with about 8 different people. I guess that was the norm for this company, probably part of the reason I didn't like the place.
I think many companies follow this procedure especially for a high end position. Many years ago I interviewed at EDS (Perot's company) in Plano, TX. It was an all day deal. A woman escorted me around and actually drove me around the various neighborhoods at lunch. They wanted an answer that day once the offer was made (policy!), but that ain't happening for me. They did call the next day and the day after offering the position.

it's perfectly acceptable to let them know early on in the process that you guys are not a fit. No need to be an arse about it though. be a pro

Never walked out of an interview but I HAVE completely shut down during one when I realized I didn't want the job. I also got suckered into this group interview once for some insurance company in New Orleans and there was a lil hottie in the group that got my attention. We chatted each other up after and I asked her out for a drink. Left the interview and followed her to her apartment so "she could change" and we fricked. She gave me her number afterwards and I left. Never even made it to the bar. Lol

No but I completely checked out of one once I realized I didn't want to work there and it was obvious the woman giving the interview googled "Good Interview Questions" to conduct the interview.

I was offered $6.50/hr after graduating from LSU. I kindly told them that was simply unrealistic and thanked them for their time before leaving.

I got offered a job in the morning, then had an interview scheduled in the afternoon. Still went to the interview in the afternoon.

I may be thinking that this is a complete waste of time, but NEVER do something that stupid by walking out and burning the bridge.

I'm trying to figure out what you're saying. Are you suggesting that you were insulted by an offer and stormed out indignantly or you just politely interrupted them with a "well I won't waste anymore of your time" and walked out. Either way, you're fricking weird and dumb.
Maybe, just maybe I do the "won't waste your time" thing if I'm in a day of interviews and it becomes apparent I'm not going for the job. But otherwise who wouldn't just hang in there for another half hour.

yes. When I was in college I had an interview to work with Best Buy part time.
This fricking manager goes into a Glengary Glen Ross tirade to me about how he wants "frickING CLOSERS". I"m just thinking, "Damn, son. It's just best buy."
Anyway, he gives me a dollar and tells me he gave one of his associates in the store the other dollar. My job was to go around and ask all the associates and "convince" them to give me a dollar to prove I could "frickING CLOSE."
Yeah...I left.

In college, I answered an add for a sales job. Turned out to be a mass interview for selling something. About 5 minutes into the speech that was being given to myself and 10-15 other people, I stopped the speaker and asked what were we going to be selling. He said that we would cover that later, so I got up and walked out. Never found out what it was, but I think it was knives or something along those lines.

Pretty much this. I'm not a salesman.

I know a boss who routinely causes candidates for employment to leave the interview early. He's a strange guy who tends to get argumentative with people he interviews. I've given up on trying to understand if he has a point to this - a method to his madness, if you will, but I think he just can't help but get sucked into a power struggle immediately with someone who MAY become his subordinate.
