I don't ever talk about it because I don't really care. Everyone I know has the same mindset

I think crossfit is the opposite of Fight Club because you have to tell everyone about it.

Atheist are the most vocal in an argument. The second someone disagrees with them, the person becomes a "right-wing bible thumping moron". Then the holy war begins.

If so, how do you hear them talking about being an atheist?

Are yall serious? Sure not every atheist is like this, just like every crossfitter isnt, but as a whole the sign is spot on

Probably on television. People who watch television make broad generalizations cause their brains are mush.

1/3 of millenials identify themselves as atheists or agnostics. If they were actually vocal, evangelicals would lose their minds.

But there is validity to this. It's not that someone disagrees with them, it's that someone cites 2,000 year old mythology or fairy tales that contradict modern science as their chief supporting evidence. That begets an appropriate response.

And I dont get the atheist part either. It's been my experience that atheists are only really vocal about it around other atheists.

Correct. It's more projection. Case in point...this sign.

The only time I ever bring up the fact that I don't believe in gods is when it's first mentioned by someone who happens to hold my same belief and we suddenly, in a sea of spirituality, found someone in common...or when I'm being bombarded by someone who feels the need to vomit religion at me in a way FAR beyond what I think should be acceptable in normal settings.

Otherwise, I talk about my lack of belief in gods about the same amount as I talk about my lack of belief in fairies. It just never comes up...

Is any time a little fun gets poked at you regarding a bar sign?

It's an anonymous message board. If he's anything like me, he realizes that there is still a stigma associated with being an atheist, so he shuts up about it IRL.

They have the reputation, but most don't say anything about it because it isn't taken very well by many

May explain why all the hostility gets released so arrogantly and passive aggressively online.
