I got an LG french door with the drawer freezer on the bottom. I like it. It was around $2000. not sure exactly.
We got an LG recently too and sounds very similar but ours was a tad over $3k. It has the door-in-door feature and we love that feature. I really like we can get the most used drinks/foods very quickly without having to evacuate all of the cold air from the fridge.
Slight con to it is that the ice maker doesn't produce ice very fast. Some days we can outpace it if we have people over and are drinking a bit. We always have backup ice in the chest freezer and the man fridge in the garage has an icemaker, but if you don't have those two options available you might want to steer away from this one.

my current kenmore has an 'acceler-ice' feature which comes in handy all the time.

once you decide on your features look for sales.
Really high end fridges cost way more than your budget, but you can find the same fridges on sale (if you do your homework and read the reviews, you do not have to be afraid of bargains).

Agreed. Check the size of the ice bucket to judge how much ice you will have on hand at any one time. Mine does not have the door in door. It is a few years old and we have had no problems. I like the size ice cubes they make Just perfect for my scotch or bourbon.

i wouldn't ignore the reviews on a particular product you aim down to, usually there's a good consensus in there about products. You'll always have that one person claiming its the worst product made.

Avoid samsung and lg. They will break after 3-5 years max. GE profile/Kenmore elite/bosch are reliable brands.

I bet. I highly recommend the door-in-door feature though. And that LG has so much room it is great!

I was shocked to learn that $3k isn't that much when I started shopping for our remodel. If you want big or industrial style, start digging in your wallet.

Got a Samsung as a wedding gift a few years ago and it has been a great fridge

Not reading through all of the replies. If it hasn't been said yet, here are a couple of things to look for.
1. Make sure they have separate cooling for freezer and fridge
2. Make sure the crisper/veggie/produce area has separate controls
3. Maybe one that has an ice maker in the fridge and the freezer part

I snagged one of these at Lowe's two years ago for $1299, almost 50% off. It's got all the bells and whistles and for the first time in my life I can see everything at once at eye level. No more mystery things in the back of the bottom shelf. The freezer is easy to access and a pull-out shelf again puts everything in sight. And it's wide enough to hold anything you want to throw at it. BTW, the middle drawer is part of the fridge, not the freezer. It's meant to be kid height, but I use it for meat storage.
