Get out of the way of traffic. There are sidewalks and tracks at schools for you.

Earbuds are used at a low volume, never over the sound that I wouldn't be able to hear cars.

dude, you're not going to get any support from the OT

I completely understand where you are coming from though

I like that people are acting like you are running on a busy street or a highway. Running on a neighborhood road is fine. Just always remember that a lot of people driving cars, especially women and teenagers, are completely unaware of their surroundings, even while driving

always take the ditch when running on roads and a car is approaching

I'm not talking highways here, just your average suburban neighborhood. The same roads you'd see a young mother strolling her baby. The same roads that have posted 25 speed limits. Yet you see idiots blazing by at twice the speed limit.
And yes I get out of the way of those idiots.

Further, a frick you to those who are texting in said neighborhoods, never even noticing a jogger or a stroller.

I've been almost hit, had trash thrown at me, yelled at, etc while road running

I've just learned to get as far away from cars as possible

Should I mention that cops are also inattentive and are running me off the road, too? When I'm jogging with my dog?

You're obviously either trolling or no better than the hood rats who love to walk in the middle of "their" street just because they live on it.

The only good that may come of this thread is LSUballs dropping in to tell his driving through the hood story.

THIS!

I have two teens in high school and there's now way I'd run on a street they were driving on. You have to assume that every moron is texting or playing on their phone. IMO, you are taking your life into your own hands if you do this.

Not trolling.
Just a little pissed that too many drivers just don't give a shite to offer a slight bit of courtesy.

Bikes are different, they go the same direction and you have to pass them. Joggers are going the opposite way and all it takes is about a three foot move to the middle of the road.

The great part about posting this thread is that no one believes they are a bad driver.

Which lane are you running in? With or against traffic?

Eta: nvm, looks like you just answered that.

First off, you need to understand that the negative feedback you're getting here is not because they actually drive like dicks in their neighborhoods, it is due their own insecurities.

Most wish they could get off their large asses and do what you're doing but they don't and hearing you talk about your running in this thread brings out their feelings of inadequacy which turns into anger at themselves which gets dished out to you.

In the immortal words of one of the single greatest recording artist of all time:

Cause the players gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.

And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake.

You gotta shake it off. Shake it off.
