The Nazis were nowhere close to getting a deliverable nuclear weapon. They were aware that it was theoretically possible but hadn't even done a "proof of concept". All this story shows is high radiation levels, that could have been found in any lab of the time.
And keep in mind that nukes of the time were extremely heavy and required heavy bombers. The B29's that dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki only barely could do the job, Germany had nothing comparable that could get it done.
The Me-262 was probably the best hope they had but they were just running out of people and materials after Kursk and were doomed anyway.

Netflix has a good show about nazi mega weapons. The jet is in an episode. Very good information. Scary shite they were close to perfecting at end of war.
They had the world's best engineers and scientists. Operation Paperclip is the main reason America was able to advance technologically in military capability so quickly after the war..we stole all the Nazi scientists and brought them here to work for the Government developing weapons.

The British test pilot basically said the jets were unstoppable. Imagine if they had those jets before we pushed into germany

There are many lessons to be learned from that era.

Unfortunately for them, some were jewish and left before things got too bad for them. Good news for us though as we got great minds like Einstein and Oppenheimer.

They were nowhere close to a nuclear weapon, period, much less a deliverable one.

True in general, but Oppenheimer was an American.

this is very well known
Actually it isn't. Most historians believe that Germany started working on a bomb but abandoned it when they realized that it would take too long. Germany could not win a protracted conflict and by the time they developed a bomb the war would be over.

if they had correctly prioritized their efforts.
For as efficient and intelligent as they were, the Nazis were hilariously bad at prioritizing their plans.

Germany simply did not have the manpower and supplies to win the war.

Where would they have detonated it? In Europe on the land they were trying to conquer? Surely they knew about fallout. How would they have gotten it to America? I don't think subs could launch nukes back then.
They had plans for the "America Bomber" and the "V3" both would be capable of delivering a nuclear weapon to the U.S. From my reading lately they let the delivery systems get ahead of the nuclear weapon development. I guess geography dictated this choice for the Germans where as the U.S. took the weapons route first as we were already down wind at a sufficient distance and had local delivery options.

Probably Stalingrad or Moscow

A number of our ancestors would have been given the "Nazi gas shower" due to impure genetics. Jewish, blacks, Chinese, and Native Americans would most likely have been wiped out in this country. The same could also be said for a number of whites who did not meet "genetic" criteria. Then again, I am not even sure if he would have been interested in North America. He might have settled for Europe and Asia. Let's just be thankful that we got to that bastard to the extent that he offed himself. At least in that case, we'll never have to find out what would have really happened if everything played out. It was horrific enough as it was.
Germany simply did not have the manpower to invade and occupy the U.S. They could have occupied England and Europe. That's where the manpower runs out.

Nor was it a goal of Hitler to fight the US

Had they developed a A-bomb they would have been presented with the problem of exactly how to deliver it to any valuable targets. The first hurdle would be a delivery vehicle. To give some perspective, the first two American A-bombs weighed 9,000 & 10,000 lbs respectively. A device of that weight would be too heavy for the V-2 rocket to deliver. It could only deal with a little over 2,000 lb payload. That means a conventional bomber would have to deliver the bomb. But that opens up two more cans of worms. First, by 1944, the Luftwaffe was a shell of it's former self so the odds of a successful bombing mission are not good. But even if they got to say London or Moscow, they still have the problem of the weight of the bomb. The biggest bomber the Germans had was the Messerschmitt ME 264 ( LINK)....
.. and it could only handle a bombload of less than 7,000 lbs.

He wasn't interested in occupying our 'mongrel' nation. Didn't he call Jesse Owens a subspecies when he won the hundred?
