shite is going to boil over. When you have literally tens of people protesting, there's no way to contain it.

I mean look at this mob from the protest. There has to be almost 40 people there. No way Troy or USA or Idaho would ever produce that kind of support. Clearly this is a beloved program.

The conspiracy theories on Facebook are pretty entertaining. I think I found a reason to get nothing done over the next hour.

this is just the start. UAB will only have intramurals by 2020.This decision is designed to abolish UAB athletics in general.

hooray... hopefully it'll just be a grad school/research institution soon.

Now the Bham media market will fill the 30 second report on UAB football with more about Saban's hand gestures.

This. Other than football players, I guarantee you more than 80% of those protesters attended 1 game or less this season.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Just sickening. So much politics in CFB nowadays...

Without having looked at UAB's numbers, it is tough to see how shutting down a D-1 football program is what's best for any university. They gave themselves the death penalty. There is no way this can have a positive effect on the future of UAB's athletic department. Shut down basketball, baseball, track, wrestling....anything but your football program.

I haven't kept up, what role did Bama play in all of this?
Posted on 12/2/14 at 7:16 pm to Thib-a-doe Tiger
Bama takes no prisoners, and the more important thing lost in all this is that the bowling team was killed as well.

I at least give him credit for telling the players to their faces and being willing to let them vent their anger at him.

My question is why not allow them to move down to FCS if money was truly the problem (even though their Football team had more revenue than both Troy and South Alabama).
Posted on 12/2/14 at 7:36 pm to Indfanfromcol
Because that's not what it's about. It's about a personal beef with UAB by Paul Bryant Jr and other BOT members and about not wanting residents of Birmingham spending money on UAB or going to games instead of devoting their attention and money to almighty Bama
