Korea and Vietnam were no picnics either and most of the vets that served did not have a choice being drafted.

It has nothing to do with difficulty or conditions.

So this in your opinion is not disrespectful to vets of other wars?

Basically what you just said is these these things and others like them are not worthy of this country's thanks...

We all know what the argument is.

They'll say that a huge percentage of the military is never placed in particular peril and never did anything to maintain the freedom/survival of the United States.

And they're probably correct.

That said, all the ones I know endured a lot of shite most of us didn't want to do, and did what the country asked them to do on our behalf. I can honestly say I don't know anyone who mooched off the military. I'm sure they exist, but I won't let that get in the way of my appreciation of those who do things we asked them to do, a lot of which didn't involve enviable tasks.

Help us understand how what you're saying is not disrespectful to all vets that have come since WWII? What do you base your opinion on?

First, I tell them "thank you", then I tell them that I had a blast doing it.

No but I don't think it means you aren't humble if you say "you're welcome". Its just the polite thing to say when somebody thanks you.

Obviously no one knows what you are talking about so enlighten us on why you think that anyone since WWII is not worthy of your thanks. Please do tell.
