A potential World Series clinching game thread? 6 pages
A regular season Mavs Spurs game thread? 10 pages

It's just decreased in general. Not just here. Boring, slow-paced sport has no place in today's go go go world

Baseball is dead. It's too long, it's too slow, blah blah blah.

The baseball game is a blowout and the Mavs vs Spurs is a regional matchup with a lot of posters who are fans of both teams posting here. Also, it was a great game.

Not legit.

It's baseball.

I'll be watching Game 7 though.

For me, and most of the people I know, I really enjoy watching the Braves. As opposed to other sports like Football and Basketball where I can watch teams I have no personal interest in play, and enjoy the game.

As for your sample size, the MSB on a Louisiana based message board isn't exactly a great representation of the US.

Don't discount the fact that the game has been over since the 2nd inning. I , for one, couldn't give two shites about any NBA game but I quit watching the WS a half hour ago to catch up on recorded episodes of Top Chef.

I played baseball. I watched baseball. I loved baseball. I don't know what happened to me but I had no idea the World Series had started until tonight.

My friends are the same way. While it is a very small sample size, it appears to me that baseball is dead.

It's looked like it's going to game 7 for a while now.

Might have something to do with it.

i do believe that there is a decreased interest in baseball, but it's really not all that large.

this is a louisiana based board which we have to hear all the time when it comes to the saints and other shite. that immediately has an impact on baseball regardless of who is playing. no pro team, less interest.

also the game has been a blowout since 15 minutes into it.

I'm just trying to understand the point of "baseball is dead" threads - are the players not getting paid? Are the owners not turning a profit? Are the networks not turning revenue off the advertising?

Until there's a YES to all three? Baseball isn't dead.

to be fair, this is a Deep South oriented board

I watched the Cubs in the '80s on TV and enjoyed it. But I fell out of the habit. For a sports fan, it must be great having a team that you live and die with every day. The NFL only gives you that once a week.

If NO had a team I'd follow them. But I can't bring myself to root for Texas teams, or the Braves, or -- God forbid -- yankee teams like, er, the Yankees

You're using the MSB as your barometer? Dumb.

I hardly ever come to the MSB to discuss baseball other than Braves threads. Just because I'm not commenting doesn't mean I'm not watching.

I do discuss general basketball here though because there are quite a few knowledgable fans.
