What is the origin of STTDB?

I know about the songs history with it being a Cameo song and the band playing it. But when was the first time that someone thought to chant "Suck that Tiger Dick, Bitch" during the "Talking out the side of your neck" part?
Anyone know the person that can lay claim to being the genius that started a true LSU tradition?

If i remember correctly, I believe it was first said when your mom was getting railed by Mike the Tiger.

The posters Burt Reynolds and Blue Velvet started it iirc

Those were the original lyrics, they had to change them to get the song on the radio. True story. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

you've got a strange definition of genius. Like the tradition of slavery, child brides, marrying your cousin, and shitting outside, this tradition needs to fade into history. The novelty wore off a long time ago.

It was Mike Linebacker. He's a coin phrasing expert.

People who are offended by STTDB can piss off. It adds to the hostile atmosphere of LSU and makes the games more fun all around.

this is a worn out discussion on the rant, and i am glad it can get away from the insanity of that place and actually have a well thought out dialogue of the question at hand right here on the OT.

I think the band first started playing Neck in either 2006, or 2007. I know that it really took off in 2007 when the entire stadium, even the old folks were waving their arms. I think STTDB started becoming audible in early 2010. Had I not been on tigerdroppings, I wouldn't have known what was being said. But by the end of 2010 it was clearly understood by most of the stadium. I think the band had pretty much stopped playing it but gave it one last hurrah at the end of the Bama victory in 2010. Kind of a, "ah, what the heck, Bama deserves it".

I'm pretty sure it was the Greek section in 2010?

I don't recall the first time it was said, but I think the catalyst was the 2007 South Carolina game "oh-wee-oh" chant when students added "you suck cocks" to it. Actually made sense for that one, but they kept it up after that game till the band quit playing it. Students were looking to make things vulgar after and STTDB started not too long later.

I was a student 06-11. Here is how I feel like it went down.
2007 USC game, the Oweo chant "you suck" became "you suck cocks." This made sense for this one game, but the you suck cocks chant then became the norm.
IIRC, this was banned by the end of the season, leaving students with a burning desire to spew vulgarity, yet no organized means to do so.
Over the course of 2008, Oweo was brought back and banned again as the you suck cocks chants continued. Meanwhile, Neck was coming into its own. I think it began in 2007 as I don't remember them playing it in 06. At first, there was no words chanted to Neck, just the hand motion.
Over the course of 08-09, our majority white student section came to find out that Neck was actually based off a real song, with real words. "Talking out the side of your neck" was chanted for about a season.. until that burning desire for vulgarity took over and STTDB became a staple in 2010. I don't remember when it specifically happened, but I feel like this was the general timeline.
