and oh yeah, plats and deeds and sales history should all be available online through your county website. Trips to the county offices shouldn't be necessary.

For real. Unless, you have a major city in your parish, or an oil/gas boom recently. You'll be lucky to find a courthouse in a rural parish with more than 20 years worth of records on line.

That behind the times, huh?

Two things i've taken away from this thread
1. the OP is a dumb arse for ever wanting to cut down those pecan trees
2. FalseProphet is a jackass

frick pecan trees. Branches always breaking, squirrels and birds always eating most of the pecans. Go with what terd said and blow those frickers up.

No doubt. It might be 2070 before all parishes have online records.

He just wants you to let your guard down....seems like it's working. I'd suggest something along these lines

He's been correct though his way of conveying that may not have been the most pleasant.

MORE DEVELOPMENTS!
Have a buddy doing some digging at the Clerk of Court
Turns out this guy has only lived there since 05. ( which explains the survey I found from 05). Then he had a judgement passed against him and since he didn't want to lose his land he sold it to some INC. in 07. The same time the land I purchased was bought and subdivided. This explains the new stakes and the new survey from 07. This also explains why when you look online for who owns the property now, it shows up as an INC. not his name.
WEIRD

It's a trap!

If you really wanna be an arse, hiding property and selling it post-judgement can get his arse in serious trouble.
