well Mr. PHD in game planning, since you obviously have the answer please enlighten the rest of us on what we are missing.

Don't pay attention to this azzwipe. He's the biggest Miles homer on the board.

Do you actually think that LSU doesn't have a different and very complex game plan for each and every opponent?

you don't want to hear an honest answer on this. If what we trotted out Saturday night was "complex," maybe you should go back and look up the word.

its complex enough that the majority of the rant doesn't understand what the offense is actually running

And I suppose you do? Predictability is a hallmark of our offense this year. We're not fooling anybody and haven't for years. We just had the horses to do it in the past. Throwing a trick play in every once in a while doesn't constitute complexity. I do know this...not attacking a team's obvious weakness is a faulty way to scheme.

It certainly does not seem that they do. Miles has the same game plan no matter who we play, run the same plays until they work. I know running has been our strength but constantly putting your young QB's in 3rd and long situations is not a good scheme. If running plays are not working, passing plays will open up the run eventually. When we see 9 men in the box and still run the infamous quick pitch....well we all know how that has been turning out. Even incomplete passes DOWN the field will help open up the run game. Everybody in the country knows we will run the ball up the middle on 1st and 2nd and then try some little short screen or slant to convert 3rd down. If the simple minded fans can see this, I am quite sure opposing coaches are catching on. Real LSU fans support their team no matter what but we are tired of seeing this crap. We consistently have one of the most talented teams in the country but we underachieve. I know we have a young team but if we are going to lose can we at least go down swinging instead of running the ball and trying to play the field position game 24/7. In the past we have relied on our great defenses, but we have not had that type of dominance lately so there needs to be a better offensive gameplan. Who cares if Jennings or harris throw an int? I would rather see us actually trying to do something instead of being conservative and getting spanked.

Yes. If they're playing 11 on defense, we want them all in the box. And of course, fullback off left guard slot.

Actually, if you block this well at the point of attack it's "take it to the house" 'cause there's nobody left back there.

Yeah but with that fullback dive play, we are setting up a toss play to Fournette. It's coming don't worry,

But on rewatch we threw out of multiple formations much more than I thought, even early. But MSU was able to get pressure andAJ missed some open receivers.

Finally THIS!!! To read the rant you'd think we never threw the ball once. Which of course isn't even close to the truth. Everyone needs to just chill out. Seriously.

We should have started throwing the ball a lot earlier

That's pretty spot on for 50% R/P

Well I went back and looked at the 1st QTR.
We had 12 running plays for a total net of 15 yds.

We had 5 passing plays for a total net of 53 yds (44 of which came from a running back pass).

We had gotten behind 14-0. The QB had thrown 4 passes to 12 running plays (in which we netted 15 yds). The QB had thrown 2 passes to WR's.
We might not be good at running the ball or passing the ball this year but clearly Les came into this game trying to force the ball down MS throat and we could not.

I just (also) wish we had a defensive coordinator that would have had a half decent game plan. It appeared to me Miss. State gave LSU the defensive game plan they wanted to face. I mean could the defensive scheme have been any worse?

I read in another post that in the week leading up to the MooState game, they had grad assistants hold up a king sized mattress and the running backs took turns running into it at full speed. Sounds like great prep for the gameplan we saw.

its pretty clear if they had a gamelan in place to attack MSU they would have attacked the secondary. they didnt. they tried to run at the strength of their team. thats a failure by the coaches.

You could have started this same thread after the Auburn game in 2010. The week or two before the game Arkansas torched Auburn through the air and it was no secret their weakness was in the secondary. LSU barely tried to attack it.

When your offense gives you 4 first downs in a half, the 85 bears can't stay on the field all game
