What does that chart show for Sandy Hook, Connecticut?
Sandy Hook, Connecticut is where the shootings actually took place and SH is a village that is contained within the town of Newtown.
Are the stats kept separately, Newton vs. Sandy Hook as reporting municipalities?

a) what is surprising is how low the murder total is in Conneticut overall. I bet a holiday weekend in nola has more murders

I'm going to get myself elected as a delegate to the RNC and make a motion to change the name to Tin Foil Party. Then, not only will the name fit the rank and file, but your nominees won't have to go out and buy new expensive wardrobes. They already have plenty of tin foil hats!
