Wouldnt you just buy a car if you wanted something to scrape the ground? Rednecks lift theirs to see who can go theough more mud, but lowering has no benefit

There's a legit purpose to dropping the shackles on the back end to level it out with the font end of the truck and then there's an obscenity with the act of making a low rider out of a truck.

It's all just a random lottery of meaningless tragedy or triumph. There is no meaning, no good, no evil. No fairy tale endings like in the movies. No nothing. To be in denial of the one and only truth is to delude yourself with the opiate of assigning value to the senseless. It's illogical and it's harmful to yourself because it sets up false expectations.

Here's my old truck.

Idling with aftermarket cam

Had a 2"/4" kit and air assist in the back so I could still tow. Towed jet skis and a boat just fine. Only thing I couldn't do with it vs. stock height was go off-road, which I don't do anyway.

On 17s just before I sold it:

On 20s, how it was most of it's lowered life:

Lowered Toyotas in Central in 1986 were the shite.

Then we all grew up and moved away.

Here in Houston when I see a lowered truck it's invariably driven by a mexican.

To get under low stuff. Duh.

Think of all the parking spots under low hanging limbs that they can access that ole monster truck can't even think about.

It's to let people know they have low rent tastes.

Almost anything done to a vehicle to modify it from stock that is solely for the purposes of aesthetics is ridiculous IMHO. You put too much value into how cool your car makes you look. It seems very high school-ish.

Goes for some additional things as well. With the money people drop into jacked up trucks, they could probably buy dedicated small, light weight, 4wd truck that wouldn't tear up the roads on their deer lease so much that they need 35" tires in the first place. I had a single cab Silverado and could get anywhere on the 1200 acres I hunted without ever putting it in 4wd. No lift, just 33" tires.

People seriously kid themselves into thinking they need things.

I guess the ascension parish punks lower them for the same reason the vermillion parish oil field trash jack theirs up...they think it looks cool. But one day they'll grow up and realize how ridiculous it looks.

I would have figured that for all of you guys being so intelligent, classy, and self righteous that you would have at least had some sort of clue or idea that the trucks you see that are "ridiculously" low have adjustable suspension (air). Right? I mean, you guys are aware of this, right? As in...its only that low when they want it to be. People do it because they like it, its their hobby, and because they can. Why do you do the shite you do? I had a 1999 S10 back in the day that was an all out show vehicle: air suspension, completely shaved bodywork, custom painted, painted interior with Bentley leather/suede seats, Bentley carpet, etc etc and featured in 3 print magazines and 5-6 online magazines.

So...again, why do you do the shite you do? And do you fricking care what people on a website think about it? If so...I guess you better find new hobbies because no matter what yours might be, they are dumb. That's the logic you exude.
