Thinking about Canceling Cable

OK...I'm seriously thinking about doing it. Switched from Cox to AT&T Uverse about a year ago because Cox's rates just seemed to be getting out of hand. Was paying $200+ for cable and internet, without any premium channels. Got a much better deal from AT&T, but the bandwidth SUCKS!!! If more than 3 TVs are being watched at one time, there's basically NO internet.
Before I switched to AT&T I toyed with the idea of cutting my cable. I'm seriously thinking about it again.
* The majority of live sporting events will be covered with over air broadcasts and Watch ESPN
* HD antenna will give me all my broadcast shows.
* Netflix and/or Hulu Plus give me all my cable shows plus movies
Would I be really missing that much?
And how would I go about doing it? Got 8 TVs throughout the house and outside. Would I need some sort of gateway box (Apple TV, Roku, etc.) for each TV? How are the HD channels through these devices? How much bandwidth would I need?
What's my first step? I'm not really technology savvy.
Thanks in advance.

This is a great thread because I'm thinking of just having Cox internet and going with a Roku 3 in my rooms.

If you have 8 tvs, you might have a bit of a problem cutting the cord.

I didnt read all that.
Netflix+hulu+amazon prime give you all you need and are cheaper by a ton of money than cable.
Make sure you have an HBOgo password
Most networks now post videos of their shows after they first air.
Then of course there are a billion illegal ways to get shows you want to see.
Are they smart tvs? If so, no problem. If yes, get roku.

So basically stealing is the only way to get good content.

I ran mine through my wall and into my attic space. Provides better picture than my Roku.

I agree. Do you have 8 really shitty TV's? If you can afford 8 decent to nice TV's than you should be able to afford cable.

No. Netflix, amazon, and hulu have a shitload of content. Amazon has all the old HBO shows on it, and Netflix is killing it in the original programming department.
I dont torrent anything and i never miss out

3 of the 8 tvs are rarely used or used during special events.
Outdoor Kitchen
Laundry Room
Upstairs Play Room
Those could just be over the air, and move my gateway box to the outdoor kitchen when needed. Is that an option?

You have to have a cable subscription.

Don't try to cut the cord then.

I see you're choosing to not respond to the content that I replied about.

Yep. And then pick it up again when the season starts.
The thing I miss most about getting rid of cable is not having a DVR.
