When you're rollin 4 deep, that tends to add up.
Charity, concert, food, booze, smokes - I'm still not getting why you, of all people, are bitching about the price.

For pete's sake, it's a CHARITY fundraiser. Your dough is supporting a good cause. Yes, you can get better value elsewhere, but that's not the point.

Grace Potter was a late addition last year, but she played.
And I believe a portion of the fee is tax deductible.

A couple of years ago it was the best event in town. Last year the crowds and line to get in were obscene and it detracted from the fun.

Popularity sucks sometimes...We'll be there defending our third place finish.
I think Champions Square will help alleviate the crowding issue. Its much larger.

Last year the crowds were miserable. They need to cap tickets, but its a charity event so that will never happen. Next best thing is move to the bigger venue.

Not sure some of the teams can handle serving the increased crowds even in the larger space. They also need to have a Mario/Emeril section all by itself out of the way of the other booths.

Mario isnt coming this year but yes there is an issue with lots of people wanting to get selfies with the top tier chefs.

so because arse goes out a lot and spends money, he isnt allowed to bitch about the price of something?
if anything, a person that goes out a lot and spends money on things like this should be the person you should actually take their bitching with some respect

Not when the kvetching is about a charity function.

Great music lineup fwiw. Lone Bellow is an incredible band live and the Pine Leaf Boys are great

Look at the flip side, why would anyone go out to eat in New Orleans on the same night as BBB when all of the chefs (who yes I know dont actually cook every plate of food) are all at another event?

I think $75 is a fair price. I will probably still pay $99 and go, but this is the time of year where there are a bunch of charity events(especially the beer drinking kind), so I have to weigh things like this out.

so your flip side actually has no merit

No it does. For $99 you can eat food from what 50 chefs (which works out to under $2 a plate) of at least 50 restaurants plus have booze and bands.
Or you could go out to eat at one restaurant for 2 people when the boss isnt around.
And again, its for a charity that helps a lot of people. But by all means, let's have a debate about whether or not that is too much to pay.
ETA: The OP original bitch has no merit because tix were $75 for the month of August.

I was commenting on how ice cold is bitching at arse for bitching about the price.

This is about the going rate for these events these days, and this is one of the better events.
I think we all wish they would have a stricter limit on ticket sales to these events, but I also think most of understand why they do not.
