None of which know shite about boudin. They studied it in a book. Call you what you want. Invite some high end chefs to come up with a link of sausage they will throw rice in and call boudin but sorry.. It's not. You can't even find a decent link in the city. Enjoy the 99 dollar boudin. Fitting coming from Link.

Is there something wrong with gaining knowledge of a food through reading it in a book?

I would put my brother's boudin noir up against anyone anywhere.

He will be there, again.

Yea I hate when people act like because someone is from a certain area that they cant make the local food. In the age of internet and being able to ship anything for almost nothing, top chefs can easily make 'local' dishes from wherever.

Fine I'll save my money and attend another one of the countless awesome food related festivals our city offers. I'm sure whatever you are doing that night instead is FAR more satisfying

Yep.

It's a charity event. $99 is pretty damn reasonable.

i would understand someone from lafayette saying that, but LP has nothing in the way of specialized cuisine. He just knows he couldn't afford to go even if he wanted to. Outclassed.

He does have a point about boudin, though. I haven't found decent boudin here in New Orleans.

And what definition of boudin are you using? Boudin isnt specific to a sausage from Southwest Louisiana

I did it last year and it was $100. The crowd was crazy too. I remember waiting around 30 min in line to get in.
