On my front lawn or what appears to be one after doing research. ...is it time to burn it all down and move?

I bet it was a wolf spider.

Was it big? If so, probably not a recluse.

did you see a violin?

Brown recluses are almost never seen wandering around on yards. The hide in the dark places, and are nocturnal when looking for web spots. That's why they are called "recluse".

This.
But WD-40 and a lighter is the obvious answer.

Yeah. That's why I think it was a wolf spider.

how can it be a recluse if it was outside???

It was maybe 3 to for inches...it was too dark to see the violin. It did not appear very hairy. The legs were very big

So, it was the same size as a sewer pipe?
ETA: Because a brown recluse, with its legs spread out, is about the same diameter as a quarter, or just under 1".

Those are always in grass and yards and shite like that. I drive over them all the time with my lawnmower.

Are they harmful to dogs or humans?
Those are the aggressive ones right?

If that indeed was a recluse, you need to capture it because you might have the largest recluse ever seen.

Probably a brown extrovert.
