The driver wasn't looking for information, he wanted to have a debate. He didn't do anything that the cop was asking him to do. In what other way was this supposed to go down?
I've been pulled over 6 times in my life. All 6 times were legit stops, and the cop told me exactly why I was pulled over. I've never had to ask.

The bold is just silly and part of the reason police are so out of control. There is no logical thought anymore, just force and mandated respect.

if you feel unsafe and fire off a few rounds into a dog or suspect then it is just a paid vacation instead of criminal charges.

I'm not an attorney nor a cop. I know if you don't sign a ticket it means you don't accept the ticket.

Cop threw out three versions of his story asserting reasonable suspicion or probable cause. The way he looks at the guys windshield after the citizen says he stopped at the stop sign and then the cop says the windshield is cracked, makes me think the stop was bullshite. Having said that, the citizen should have complied with the officers requests while continuing to record the incident and should have remained calm and respectful.
As usual with these videos, both cop and citizen should have behaved differently.

Signing a ticket is just an acknowledgement that you were provided notice. Not signing it is a good way to get taken to jail for a simple traffic violation.

The law in Florida has been amended such that you only have to sign a ticket if it (1) is a "criminal" traffic citation or (2) it requires a "mandatory hearing" in court. Section 318.14(2) of the Florida Statutes provides:(2) Except as provided in ss. 316.1001(2) and 316.0083, any person cited for a violation requiring a mandatory hearing listed in s. 318.19 or any other criminal traffic violation listed in chapter 316 must sign and accept a citation indicating a promise to appear. A citation for a bad tail light, a civil traffic offense, does not require a signature. There is a case currently pending in Orlando Florida that is addressing this specific issue where an officer lied to a motorist that he had to have her "sign" the tail light ticket.

it was a setup by the dude. He was looking for a payday. He probably saw the cop sitting there then purposely ran the sign to get him to pull him over to start videoing.

Drive should have shut up, taken the ticket, and gone to court. I have never heard of anybody arguing their way out of a ticket.

You signing the ticket allows you to leave on your own recognizance pending your court date. It's like you posting bail. Not signing it means you would have been detained.
So, you expect me to believe a cop pulled you over and actually wrote you a ticket, at which you refused to sign (AND told him you would not sign it because you did not want to admit to being guilty), then he just let you go?
I guess he had confetti party in his car.
