and this is exactly what this guy did.

1) I roll down my window only a couple inches. enough to hear the officer and hand him my information.

2) Before i do anything I ask why I was stopped.

3) I then tell him I am recording this conversation for both his and my safety.

4) I then hand him my information a required by law.

5) If asked to get out of the vehicle, I roll up the window, exit the vehicle and lock the doors.

6) I will say nothing more but "am I free to go" after being requested to leave the vehicle as the traffic stop has now progressed.

I've been stopped for speeding when I wasn't speeding. Simply told the cop I was not speeding and I will not sign that ticket admitting that I was. I explained to him that I have all the time in the world, but will not admit guilt when I am not guilty.

I did not disrespect the officer one moment. He told me to make sure to get an inspection sticker soon because mine was going to be out the next month. I thanked him, and drove away.

Did you watch the video you posted? How come you needed someone else to swoop in with facts?

Asking why you are stopped and debating it right there and delaying or refusing to comply with a request to hand over your information are two different things.

There is also no need to ask why you are being pulled over. I promise, you will be told.

I saw a case typical of this:

Guy being belligerent because he was recording.

The people who want to claim that the cop added shite just because he was being recorded obviously weren't paying attention to the convo, as the cop was listing several things that started before that point.

"May I ask what you stopped me for?"

"Running a stop sign."

"Blah blah blah"

"Just wanted to let you know you also have a cracked windshield."

"That's not what you stopped me for! (as if that matters) I just wanted to let you know that you are being recorded!"

"And you were speeding."

At absolute worst, it was a borderline case (like ~5 mph over) that the cop was originally going to let slide, but recanted because the dude was being a prick.

He's arrested for ignoring the calm and legal request of the officer 3-4 times while he is doing the youtube posturing.

no the cop asked him multiple times for his license and registration and the guy wouldn't produce them, further he didn't comply with anything the officer was telling him to do.

people misinterpret the fine line of freedom. they assume freedom means they do what they want and convince themselves they answer to no one. you answer to a govt which hires officers to execute laws. im sure there are many a-hole cops, however, they are under unmeasurable stress and get the right to instruct any citizen to shutup and obide their orders. then the citizen uses their rights to argue to a judge their dismantlement.

i hate my generation.

But he had a little script in his head when he started recording, and he needed to make sure he was told that early.

You aren't admitting guilt when you sign a ticket.

My father and many family friends are cops.

This cop was being an a-hole. Simple as that.
