Bama can literally run the ball 80% of the time. They're as stacked as ever in that backfield.

2010 backfield of Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and Eddie Lacy disagrees.

And that was LSU's actual gameplan for the 5 years leading up to last year. We just added the #1 recruit in the nation to our backfield this year. I think our backfield talent competes just fine.

Of course LSU's backfield will compete just fine. I really think Henry is going to be a problem this year out of Bama. Ingram, Richardson, lacy was absurd...unfortunately, I think Yeldon/Henry rival the numbers Ingram and Richardson put up in that campaign.

That duo, auburn, and Arkansas' running game are going to be some tough battles in the trenches.

every year MSU gets these high predictions and every year they fall flat. They are no better than 4 in the west

Don't be so upset. Prognosticators are gonna prognosticate. We should enjoy the underdog role. We don't get to very often.

Auburn and State are too high, Landmass too low.

There isn't a drastic difference in the difficulty of the schedules. 'Bama returns just 1 starter in their secondary.

Yet, everyone has Alabama winning the SEC and making it into the playoffs, while no one seems to give LSU a chance.

I agree with you!!! But I think the media remember us losing big time last year to Bama, when we had a good QB, exceptional wide receivers, proven RB, and overall productive offense.

Can't wait for ESPN to release their sex tape with Nick Saban!!!! With all their analyst in a circle Saban in the middle getting head from all of them!

Maybe ESPN gives Bama more respect because they've won the national championship 3 of the last 5 years and have only lost 7 games in 5 years. They're able to reload and play at championship caliber nearly every year.

Get over the Bama obsession. If you want it to stop, we just need to routinely beat them on the field and stop whining about schedules, ESPN, polls, etc.

This. Look, I'm an LSU fan. I hope we prove all doubters wrong, but what about LSU's performance last season and our offseason losses makes these predictions so ridiculous?

Yes on paper LSU and Bama losses are the same. However they have out recruited us and everyone else over the last 5 years. They have deeper talent.

My contribution to the SECR thread

Mississippi State vs. ranked teams under Dan Mullen

W-L
2-21

Outscored by 322 points... 724-402 (32ppg to 18ppg)
Currently on a 15 game losing streak to ranked teams
Last win: 10/16/2010 vs #22 Florida

I'm not buying the State hype. I've got Auburn losing 3 or 4 without pulling magic out of their arse this year.

We both return our Head Coachs which is where the difference is. Wether you agree or not... its what the media sees.

i honestly can't argue with the predictions. there is a great chance LSU's QB play will be terrible this year. AUB and MSU have good returning starters. Bama is BAma

I think the media is underestimating the loss of McCarron for bama. He was the difference in the mulligan and the 2012 game.
