1. LOTR-while not perfect all 3 were pretty great
2. Star Wars-Held back by the Ewoks
3. Indiana Jones-Temple of Doom jumped the shark on reality but saved by the Last Crusade
4. Bourne-All 3 movies were good but not great like above
5. The Dark Knight-carried by the middle episode
6. Hannibal-Silence of the Lambs was great carries the trilogy
7. The Matrix-Great 1st movie got steadily worse
8. Back to the Future-Had no movies that were as good as the best from any of the above
I do not hate Back to the Future, it came out while I was in HS and I loved it, but not up to the best of the above.

i guess id have to give it to LOTR because of the quality of filmmaking

hannibal is terrible. they basically made the character into some kind of cartoonish villain in that movie.

My SO worked on a movie Ray Liotta was in, so I'm sure that she would be completely fine with anyone eating his brains.

Personal favorites
1. Indiana Jones 3/3- Conistently great all 3 movies. Crystal skull is an abomination and it's something we all must forget ever existed.
2. Bourne 3/3 - Again, all 3 movies were solid.
3. Back to the Future 3/3 - Same as above
4. Original Star Wars 2.5/3 - All 3 were good, but i was never a huge star wars fan.
5. Hannibal 2/3 - Silence and red Dragon were Incredible. Hannibal was awful
6. Lord of the Rings 2/3 - 1st and 2nd were great, 3rd fell off a little for me.
7. The Dark Knight 1.75/3 - I liked all 3 movies, but the acting suffered at different parts, in every movie. However, each movie had at least 1 great actor in it. And i also rank it lower due to oversaturation. Plays too damn much on tv, so the errors in the movie stick out.
8. The Matrix 1/3 - The first movie is one of my favorite movies of all time. The 2nd and 3rd were terrible. Part 2 was too much shitty CGI. Part 3 a lot of CGI, just not as shitty.

Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Bourne
Back to the Future
The Dark Knight
Hannibal
LOTR
The Matrix
The distance between Hannibal and LOTR is far more significant than the distance between Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

1) LOTR
2) TDK
3) SW (original)
4) Indiana Jones (assuming we are ignoring 4 [the strength of the bookends makes up for the weak middle one])
5) Bourne
6) Back to the Future
7) Matrix
8) Hannibal (here because I have only seen SOTL).

I probably like the Bourne series more than most of you. I hated the last matrix movie. I thought Red Dragon was pretty good. I had no interest in Hannibal.

More hate for Bourne than anything. TDK haters haven't come out yet.

Let me help with that
Original Star Wars - Is there really another option?
Indiana Jones - Probably the best combo of movies and Temple isn't THAT bad.
LOTR - I think when DC hits its stride, we'll see how much LOTR affects film. The whole filming everything as one can be bigger than it is.
Back to the Future - Honestly, I considered this for the top spot, then it fell. I think outside of Star Wars, its movies are the most important to creating an interesting set of films.
Bourne - See below
The Dark Knight - This is just for abellsujr But these two can go either way. Bourne has a FAR better close. TDK has a better high point. Take your pick as to what a trilogy should be. I trend towards culmination.
The Matrix - This COULD have been near the top with a better third film, but given what I said above, it must go here. And I think out of every single film in this list, the Matrix is behind only A New Hope as the most influential film.
Hannibal - Boring. Does not belong in the discussion.
