And why the hell did they walk back to Charleston?
Did they really walk from Brazil?
Who was the alien saying to capture "The Ghost" ?

I don't think they ever went to Brazil. Didn't the Cochise Volm guy give them their weapons back and let them go?

I couldn't tell if that was a Volm or a brown Espheni. It may be a different alien race all together. But whatever it is, they made it seem like he was running the internment camp.

The middle brother.......Ben......he's not as terrible at acting as he was last season.

Are people forgetting the skitters aren't the Espheni but simply work for them?

In the preview for next week's episode, they show an Espheni (or an alien that looked like an Espheni) that was brown instead of grey.

Perhaps they have different races just like humans do

I guess, but tv shows and movies rarely show different races for aliens. Maybe it is the one that is torched with the flame thrower.

Okay, I watched last night, and holy shite was that pretty bad. I love to watch the show and get mad at it, but last night was borderline horrible. I jotted some thoughts into my phone.
I love how within five minutes of the show, literally every major character has gotten their ten seconds of screen time to each say their respective cliche lines of dialogue. Not a good start.
So they're just walking to Charleston all out in the open with no fricks given? That's not very smart when there are still angry aliens all over the world.
Man, Will Patton (whom I usually like a lot) is really awful in this.
Are skitters blind? There are people walking all over the ghetto camp in plain view of the skitters, yet they apparently don't see them or notice anything. Weird.
"Where is the closest Wal-Mart?" Wow, really?
So Lexi is grown up (and sort of weird-hot) now? Is this show making shite up as they go?
Espheni brainwash school. What the frick? Holy shite this is bad.
So Pope calls Hal "Junior" now apparently...he's said about 6 times already. That's gonna get annoying real quick.
So now Anne is some badass general soldier chick?
This show seems like one deus ex machina after another.
I think I hate the little brother now more than I ever did before.
Per the previews, Ben gets with Maggie? Yikes.
As much as I enjoy watching this show to see how bad it is, it's getting worse I think...I may have to bail soon.

I am with you. I have really enjoyed the show, depsite all of its flaws. The season premiere was not promising. It seemed like it was thrown together on the fly. There are too many storylines going on, and most of them are dumb.
The whole half alien, hippy, cult leader thing is terrible.
I really hope they get this thing back on track, but I have feeling this is the beginning of a shitty season.

Agreed on both points. It's like they're randomly making up things to kill time. So now Tom is an acrobatic motorcycle rider? The Skitters can climb up walls and are fast as shite, but he keeps managing to lose them every time he's chased? Oh, and let's just make Lexi age ten years in a few months. Oh, and now instead of harnessing kids, which was the whole point a season or two ago, let's now brainwash them into thinking the aliens are the bees' knees.
It's like they took everything from before and are like "Just kidding on all that stuff...now we're onto this stuff."

I see this wasn't bumped for the Sunday episode. That can't be a good sign.
Watching now. For someone who is portrayed as the leader and head honcho all the time, the Masons are some pretty fricking selfish assholes. We have Anne leading people on the road and she can't even stop for two seconds and let someone rest or drink water. We have Tom trying to be "the ghost" and help out, but when he gets ahold of Cochise on the ham radio, all he wants him to do is find Matt. frick everybody else's kids I guess...just find MY son. What a dick.
It is really (really) bugging me that Anne is this fricking badass all of a sudden. She's shooting skitters and trying to question them all Jack Bauer style? GTFO.
We have Ben telling Lexi that he'll die before he let anything happen to her. So obviously I'm begging for that to happen hella soon.
So now another alien threat is coming? That's the fourth different "bigger" threat now (skitters, espheni, volm, and this)?
Obligatory "I want to punch the youngest brother in the throat" comment.
This whole Lexi thing is super weird.
Ben bout to get freaky with Maggie.
And we get an "I'll die before...blah blah" statement from Matt in the previews. That would make my day even more than Ben.
All in all, better episode this week than last week.

Agreed. Falling Skies is one of those shows that usually has a boring premiere with some interesting tidbits but then again that's been the whole MO of this show in a nutshell.

I've been wanting to watch this show from the beginning. Not on Netflix. Anyone know how I can? Is it on amazon prime?
ETA: Just checked. Amazon prime!

The first couple of seasons were pretty good, but this season has been pretty rough.

Why they decided to divide up the group out of nowhere and put them in 3 totally different style of prison camps is beyond me.

It really does nothing to progress the story and is taking the show backwards story wise. It's wasting episodes on something that could be a legit resistance story.
However, I did enjoy last nights episode as it really picked up the pace and I thought it was the best one we've seen in a while. I was emotionally invested in pope blowing that shite up and that elderly couple making it. Loved Tom fricking all those skitters up by dropping a building on them. It's not gonna take long for Anne to think lexi is fricked up and its too good to be true. I think the story is gonna pick up a brisk pace and we'll get some very good TV out of it.

Seems to be picking it up since the premier, hopefully it continues. The Lexi and youth camp story lines are not that good.

Just got caught up on this week's episode.
1.) this is a huge opportunity to do something with Pope's character. I hope to see some internal struggle with him, erring on the side of good.
2.) I mourn the old man, but frick that bitch of a wife of his. If she would have shown some vague sense of urgency like he was, he would still be alive. I hope she kills herself. and frick Mason's kid too for that matter, there weren't more than a hundred people at most, a real leader would have recognized the two of them as a weak spot and had someone else making sure they were moving quickly. Failure to lead caused the deaths as much as her fricking lack of caring.
