Would be pretty intense to have your dad as the head football coach of the school you're at

We all get what he's saying, but honestly his kids probably don't want the spotlight at LSU with pops being the head man of the football program.

Also, LSU gives 0 fricks about swimming and diving. they couldn't have paid smacker to end up at LSU

Not to mention...

Are the children of coaches at schools supposed to forget about their dreams and aspirations simply because their mom/dad coaches there?

Let's face it - UT is miles out in front of LSU in regards to swimming, which is why his daughter went there. Is she supposed to NOT go to UT because Miles coaches at LSU? Not to mention, his kids have been around LSU for quite a while, so I would imagine the lure of a new campus would be appealing.

As for Manny, I'm sure if he was a stud, 5-star QB,the situation would be different...but he's not. So, who here wouldn't want their son to follow them and play at the same school as they did if they had the chance?

Lastly, as a good father, he apparently trusts his kids to make decisions that are best for THEM, and not him. Which, in the end, makes me think even more of him as a person, and even happier that he's the coach at LSU.

first and foremost.. that headline is absolute shite.

quote:

LSU's Les Miles, passed over twice by Michigan, grateful for lessons at alma mater

Miles stated he had no interest the first time.. therefore why would they offer him either time. That is pathetic writing to try and make Miles look bad..

WTF is he doing at a camp in Michigan with son?

Being a father. I don't think he will QB at LSU..

If you saying that they never said verbally. Les, we are offering you the Michigan job. But IMO they definitely let him know it was his job if he wanted it.

1st thing Manny knows he will never play at LSU, because he's white and not a " Dual Threat" QB ! 2nd he probably thinks it's kinda weird his dad has been liken young men for quite some time! Seriously he probably wants to follow in his dad's shoes, graduating from the same school. It meant a lot to me graduating from the same school as my dad , and now I hope my son does the same thing!!

On how long he’ll keep coaching:

Why do people want to believe so badly that Miles was offered the job? Does it help you sleep better at night thinking LSU has a coach that someone else wants?

You're the one posting page 1 about him not offered in the face of common knowledge to the contrary. I could see your point, had I actually brought it up in a thread.

Likewise, why do people want to believe so badly that CLM *wasn't* offered the job at his alma mater???
