Has anyone else noticed Kleinpeter milk tasting different lately? (not in a good way) Did they change something? I've been a kleinpeter milk fan for years but the last two gallons I've bought taste different than the usual.

How so? Right from the store, or closer to the expiration date?

Dont know about the taste, but we've had issues with their milk expiring early (7-10 days before date) and the seals on their gallons of milk leaking.

Don't know about the milk, but the Kleinpeter ice cream was a huge disappointment. I'll stick to Blue Bell.

I have no clue. Adults shouldn't drink milk.

I have a friend who is a toxicologist. She was involved in a study about 5 years ago where they were analyzing all available milk products in Louisiana. She said Kleinpeter was far and away the "cleanest" milk available when it comes to puss content and a list of other common contaminants. I realize this study is now dated, but relevant nonetheless.

I was thinking the same thing but thought it must just be me.

Maybe it's just me, but I find that many brands of milk have an off-taste during this time of year. I'm no dairy farmer, but I wonder if it has to do the cows eating certain types of weeds or grasses that come up in the early spring.

Don't know about the milk but a family member bought their egg nog in December and it made everyone very sick.

We went to the grocery store to alert them to possibly other bottles might be bad too and they said several people had gotten sick from Kleinpeter egg nog that day.

I've noticed it..... I started a thread on it a few months ago.... I don't bother to waste my money any more... Loved their mild but lately it's just been bad.

Call them up or send them an email. I had the same issue within a two month period (whole gallons going sour before the expiry date) and sent them an email. The next morning someone from Kleinpeter called and came to my house with a fresh gallon. He tested my fridge temp. and explained that he would also check with the truck that delivered it as well as the store.

Made me feel better at least that they were looking into the issue.

Yep, Milk tastes metalic or like plastic before the sell by date. My family changed to Shurfine, same problems. Then the store, we shop at, changed to Shurfine milk made in Hammond vs. Shurfine made by Kleinpeter. Havent had any problems since.
The manager at the store said Kleinpeter's sell by date on the milk is 5 or 6 days to long.

gave up on them a while back. Switched to Feliciana's Best and haven't looked back. Much better product.
