Sorry. Buddy said someone claimed.

I told him that’s the better option than having a free but haunted boat.

Toledo Bend - Unmanned Boat

This boat just floated up to my buddy’s camp this afternoon. North LA side of Lake near converse. He said it had a half drank coke can and fish/bait in it.

Have called PD and WF.

Hope everyone is safe. Just wanted to pass along.

Does this bulb work outside? Would be nice to hook it up in the light outside my side door and be able to have a timer on it and control it with my phone.

It isn't outdoor rated so I wouldn't put it in direct weather but covered under a carport should be ok. The only weather rated color bulb I've found is Ilumni.

I actually put a few HUE Bulbs in weather proof housings and they held up fine.

Not in my wink yet.

The solution I'm buying this week is the Illumi Bulbs and using the IFTTT proximity locator to turn on the bulbs when I, or family, get close to home. I also decorate the house with Christmas lights so these will fit in for that also. Also plan on making a IFTTT for LSU football games which will turn the lights purple and gold when LSU plays.

I've been looking for the exact same setup to integrate with my wink hub and stumbled across these bulbs tonight. From my understanding they don't work with wink or smartthings so they rely on a connection with your phone to work... If your phone isn't at home how will ifttt "talk" to the bulbs?
Do any of you fellas know of an outdoor waterproof uplight housing that allows you use your own bulb?

I want to install some landscaping uplighting that changes colors via wink. Figured the easiest way to do that would be with a housing and hue or similar bulb.

The relay requires a neutral correct?
Do the two squares to the right of the relay do anything?

It is true that Wink works by partnerships. They have to get paid to support a product

That's unfortunate.

 switch hub brands

I read last night that wink doesn't do the coding work for support until a brand pays them to do it... That's why you don't have Sonos for example. Is that true? If so I might reconsider this thing which sucks because I threw the box away.

I've seen those but unless I'm wrong they only do one color at a time. I'm also looking for uplights that shine on a tree, plant, etc.

I've always wondered about that but that makes a ton of sense.

Have any of you guys ever heard of land scaping lights the change colors and can connect to wink or etc? I want up lights that turn purple and gold on gameday.

It's a weird hobby

just go get a different kind of switch for your wall instead of lutron. its a wall switch. they all work

Not true if your wiring doesn't have a neutral like my old arse house.
It is going to be cloud to cloud with the existing Lutron hub is my understanding.

I actually have the Lutron hub sitting in a box because it came with a kit that I bought haven't needed it with the wink.
I know it's just an announcement but the lack of Lutron was the deciding factor that made me go with wink. Now that it's allegedly coming im wondering if I picked wrong. Seems like smart things just has more behind it in terms of support.

I cannot find how to connect the wink and harmony hub together.

Based on my limited research neither can I.
That $60 Lutron sounds better and better.

I want my "wake up" shortcut to turn on my living room TV to the news and have it turn off when I leave the house. How do I go about that? My first thought was a harmony remote but I don't think they work with wink
It's done within the app so any of the wink compatible switches will do that. I have my outside lights on a sunset/sunrise schedule.

I use the Lutron casetas because they do the require a neutral and I live in an old house. Overall they are reliable and I would recommend.

I think this is about to change but they weren't compatible with smartthings when I bought my wink hub. So you will be locked down to wink if you go with them over some other option.
quote:

So I'm curious, do they verify that you actually own the lock before shipping a replacement?

This is why we can't have nice things. Lol

I'm debating on buying one of these. Do you guys like the particular brand you have? I'm considering waiting but I don't know what innovative new feature could possibly come out for a door lock so I may as well do it now. Assuming they are reliable.

Wink has probably improved since your last go at it.

Well I randomly got it to link the time into the flow line by a stroke of luck. It seems like it is very precise with dragging and dropping things. When I went to enable it I got a timeout error. I think I'll leave this one along until they get a little more serious with the Android App.

I figured out how the basic concepts but can't figure out how to only make an action happen if it's between a certain time. On some of the prepaid flows they show you linking to the line between to things but mine won't connect.

I downloaded the app but can't figure out how to string things together. I guess this is part of the problem. Looks like it has potential though.

I'm assuming your phone needs to be running in order for this stuff to work? Does that eat up battery life?
Is there anyway to make an ifttt trigger only at a certain time?

My goal is to have a HUE bulb turn blue at 6am if rain is expected that day and then turn off an hour or so later.

hell yeah i do..my phone, my wife's phone, my 4 kids' phones.... ?

Does it call you or make a text? I know monitoring probably doesn't do much but at least I know for a 100% chance someone will pick up the phone.

Also can you have it Armed
While you're home?
