Someone clipped a motorcycle rider. He was laying in the street when I passed by.

If it's noise on the line from another subscriber or piece of equipment, it's a pain to get them to address.

File an FCC complaint. It'll get their attention and you'll typically have a single point of contact through the full process.

Just went through a similar issue and nothing happened until I filed a complaint. This went on for two months...filed complaint and it was resolved in a week.
I'm using this 50 ft. cable with no issues.

Reiger is flooded now as well. Doesn't look like there is any way in.
Reiger was passable this morning. Few stalled cars by Kentwood. Industriplex is underwater in spots...saw a Jeep make it through.

We're next to City Pork and it's dry.

You have a good recipe for the chicken and rice pilaf? You grill the chicken or rotisserie it?
Calandro's on Perkins had some at lunch.

What about the issue that there is no remotely feasible or responsible way to create bike lanes throughout the city? And furthermore, the cost and disruption to motor vehicle traffic if bike lanes were prevalent would be utterly absurd.

With that reality in mind, how much difference does it actually make to create bike lanes on this one residential street? If you are truly a dedicated cyclist, then the bike lane on Glenmore should represent a tiny fraction of the public roadways you travel. And unless the city goes totally nuts, you will never be able to count on bike lanes for the majority of your travel.

This issue is like all of the other political correctness battles that dominate headlines. Cyclists want to be considered a special class of citizen/victims and the Glenmore bike lane has become a government sanctioned symbol of their "special" status.

I love riding motorcycles, but I rarely do it in BR anymore because the dangers involved take the fun out of it. And that's a fact of life that no government program, policy or special dispensation of public assets will ever change.

Ride your bicycle if you want to. Face the realities of the risks involved and the realities of the minor importance of your selected mode of travel in the big picture.

We have to start somewhere. Removing existing lanes is moving in the wrong direction. With the planned Government Street changes we're moving closer to a bike/pedestrian friendly area...so it isn't that unfeasible. Painful and requiring compromise? Yes.

I don't want to be considered a special class. I'd just prefer to not be killed by cars and have options on means of transportation. I live in the area now because I can walk or bike to many places. And as they build more paths and bike lanes I can get further and further.

I don't ride my bike to lots of places for the same reason you don't ride your motorcycle. But I'd like to!
Right, if I have to veer outside of the bike lane to avoid a parked car I have more chances of being hit by a texter.

As a cyclist with common sense I should look back and make sure there are no cars...that's hard to explain to a child riding in a neighborhood. I definitely teach my kid to be aware, but I'd prefer to err on the side of caution here...she doesn't always listen.
quote:

We rode our Sting-Rays 10,000 miles when we were kids, on streets much busier than Glenmore. No helmets, no bike lanes, no casualties. Continuously preaching that bike lanes and sidewalks will make any measurable difference in Baton Rouge's traffic problems is ludicrous. It's simply political correctness applied to traffic engineering.

I think the issue with this argument is that there are more vehicles on the road now...and more importantly a lot more distracted drivers.

Got my wife a membership for Christmas. The tasting kit arrives tonight. I'll let you know!
Yep, I'll be there. I can meet you out front before the show.

I had it yesterday afternoon. It's definitely still there.
Only one left now at Albertsons-Govt.

Calandro's said they wouldn't have anymore til next week.
I wouldn't say we were a united country before those remarks, but I think many would probably interpret them as fairly divisive.

By definition his statement divided the country into one half that did not pay taxes (and would vote for Obama) and another half that did pay taxes.

I don't necessarily disagree with his statement. But I think it's disingenuous to say that he wouldn't have divided the country...especially along class lines.

Romney would not divide the country along racial and class lines.

Didn't he do just that with his 47% comments?
Call them up or send them an email. I had the same issue within a two month period (whole gallons going sour before the expiry date) and sent them an email. The next morning someone from Kleinpeter called and came to my house with a fresh gallon. He tested my fridge temp. and explained that he would also check with the truck that delivered it as well as the store.

Made me feel better at least that they were looking into the issue.
