cnn will run 30 different shows talking about the possible dry run motives or fight on board, etc. but looks like the pilot that said it was a decompression event or fire and a turn back then crash after running out of fuel was right.

sad and terrible loss of life. can't imagine having a relative that deep in the friggin' indian ocean. awful.

No.

More likely pilot murder-suicide.

I'm not saying this won't end up being the case, but what are you basing this on?

Can you put forth a plausible scenario that doesn't have any logic gaps?

yes, and you can zoom in on military bases and even "secret" facilities.

But far from real-time. I think the gov't doesn't want recent hi-res satellite images out there.

didn't we just release 28 new satelites that will take images once a second, traveling at five miles a second?

We have things out there.

Also I get the real time thing, I do. But I think if we can take these clear images, it's obvious we can film them as well.

If that is the concern.
The US has how many satellites? I know 24 for GPS alone. I can't imagine the spy sat number.

True. They keep re-gurgitating the same crap over and over. How many times do we need to see that crappy satellite image? And they still label it "breaking news." And why can't Sheppard Smith comprehend that it is (oh-rion)instead of (uh-rion?) he mis-pronounced the P3 Orion a dozen times before someone probably corrected him.

Absolutely. You can zoom right in on Area 51.

When they mentioned the US built radar installation in Australia was the one that possibly spotted the plane, first thing I did was get a look at it.

I mean Area 51 in all it's glory and the nuke sites are there for all to see.

most likely emergency

the professional pilots, on air and in flight chat boards, have said pretty consistently that the mumblings reported from last contact and the turn back was consistent with something catastrophic happening and them trying to get to a close airport the pilots would have known of, with easy terrain. just a sad crash and sad how the networks trashed the pilot also.

I wasn't aware of that but that doesn't mean we didn't. If so, would those data be available to everybody, to just those who pay for them or just to the government?

I think the fact that the plane turned before that last contact pretty much blows a hole in that theory.

Yes, kind of like Helios 522.

I mean its possible, hell anything is possible...

But the movements/happenings right around the time of the turn make it seem as someone was still in control and systematically doing things.

Did the pilots on Helios not have oxygen masks?
