Consider this...perhaps the refusal to check the Maldives is because the top secret US military base on Diego Garcia may have influenced authorities to search elsewhere simply because Diego Garcia's radar missed the plane too. Imagine how embarrassing it would be for the US military to have to admit that their secret island base didn't detect the plane?
Hot take.
Did you really bother to look at the map before taking it?
The Maldives is more than 700 miles away from Diego, well out of the reach of anything other than a targeted phased array radar. And maybe even then.
Furthermore:

You're telling me that a top secret state of the art military base on Diego Garcia couldn't detect the low flying plane? If Diego Garcia actually couldn't detect the low flying plane, that would be a huge security issue, wouldn't it?
You know how you beat radar? Its no secret, its been known the entire era of modern aviation: You stay below the visual horizon of the transmitter. This means flying low, in valleys, etc. Flying low shortens the visual horizon. Its exactly how the US did penetrating attacks into hostile airspace before the era of stealth.
So no, its not a recrimination that Diego Garcia isn't equipped with magic radar that can transmit through the earth for hundreds of miles and see whats on the other side.
You psuedo intellectual tin foil hat wearing bastards are hilarious. Especially when you are SO SURE you have brilliantly stumbled unto a nugget of conspiracy.
ETA: And yes, I see now I responded to a two year old comment.
And yes, I see the irony in using the phrase "hot take."
