I gotcha I graduated early 2000's from Sprayberry. Lived extremely close to Lassiter' s district. I hear Sprayberry has really gone down these days
a friend I graduated with is a really big KU fan from KC..thought you might have been him

Johns Creek
My uncle lives in Johns Creek on Buice Road. I love that area but could not afford it.
If the OP can afford it... Johns Creek is where he should live imo.

Anywhere off Johnson Ferry is a good area for East Cobb.

My office is in Alpharetta. I used to work for a company and had to commute to the King building every single damn day from Columbus. That being said, pretty much anything up 400 is good.

No kids yet but one is due in August. I will be here a while. Budget isn't 400k, I know I'm poor, but not too far from that. You guys have listed some good places.
What are property taxes and income taxes like in ga? I don't have income tax and I think that will blow.

My mother in law used to live in John's Creek. It is a really nice area.

Woodstock too far north for me.
East Cobb are nice burbs.
Historic Marietta is how we compromised. We are like 3/4 mile from the square. Would recommend.

Woodstock. We'll be neighbors

How long of a drive is it to the airport from Woodstock? I will need to do a lot of flying for my job.
Then you're going to be a good 45 minutes from the airport, and that's if you leave for it at 5:00 AM. If you go to the airport any time where there is traffic, you're looking to roughly double your time.
My rec would be Sandy Springs. Worked there for a few months, and liked it. I lived in Buckhead though.

If you live in Marietta you can take east-west connector to camp creek and get to the airport in an hour if the interstate is gridlocked.

I graduated from sprayberry in 2010. My little brother goes there now. I'm not sure how it has "gone downhill" at all.
Sprayberry always had a bad reputation for no reason in particular. Does anyone actually think the teachers are better at Lassiter or Walton? They all went to the same colleges and got the same degree and have the same number of yrs experience.
If you go to Sprayberry, your chances of getting into a good college go down 0%.
The only reason I could see you not wanting to send your kid to sprayberry is if your child is like a soccer or lacrosse prodigy, because Sprayberry is very far behind the rest of East Cobb in those areas. Basketball is very good at sprayberry. Baseball is pretty damn good. Football is up and down, but not bad enough that you would move away to avoid having your kid go there (when I was in school I think we made the playoffs 3 times). Basically, if you spend an extra 100K on a house because you think Sprayberry is a bad school , I think you are pretty retarded.

If you are going to take schools into consideration, the Walton area is good or look into an area that is covered by the Buford City School district. They serve only their schools not grouped in a county wide school district. They have private school amenities at a public school price.

It will be the MARTA for you to the airport from that area ,if you have to get out of town . Made that trip too many times. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconwah.gif)

What's your age/gender/marital status, and how do you like to socialize/spend your free time?
