It had some funny moments, but I thought it was pretty boring overall.

I don't really see what there is to hate, it kinda dragged at the end but other than that it was one of the best comedies in years. It doesn't get much better than a handful of holloywood's funniest guys sitting around trying to make each other laugh for two hours.

When its not, you get "Grown Ups" 1 and 2

I wouldn't really call the grown ups cast a handful of the funniest guys in Hollywood.

Obviously many have an issue with their lack of respect for the religious aspects portrayed in the movie. Make way for a CSB...

About two months ago while at the dentist for my 6 month cleaning, the hygienist starting talking to me about movies. She mentioned she had seen some movie "about the end times" and hated it. Her use of the words "end times" sort of clued my in that she was religious. I asked her if she meant the Rogan-Franco movie she said yes. She then went on and ON about how terrible it was and I sat quietly...what with her having her hands in my mouth. when she finally stopped and asked if I'd seen it, I told her that my wife and I had gone to the theater to see it and really enjoyed it. She then explained had she done that she'd have demanded her money back, etc.

Then...I told her that I had seen the Red Band trailer, knew exactly what the movie was when going in and am not religious so there wasn't anything in it that offended me, but I could see how if she was or she went in without knowing what it would be like she'd have been upset. Me simply saying, "I'm not religious" spurred nearly 10 minutes of WAY inappropriate questions and comments...and her addressing specific scenes that troubled her.

All that to say that for some, the main issue with this movie was the lack of respect for what she deemed, "Such a serious topic" for many. Not all, obviously...so may just have found it shitty. But for others, without a doubt.

I saw it in the theaters and really enjoyed it. Watched it again the other day and enjoyed about the same.

A friend of mine at work mentioned that he saw this movie the other day and we started the usual spiel of quoting our favorite lines and funniest scenes and whatnot.

I couldn't really recall anything, other than some of McBride's dialogue and couple other snippets. I guess that's how I'd sum up the movie - enjoyable, but forgettable.

I thought it was a really funny movie. The ending was where it fell off. They also could've down we'll without bruchal. IMO he isn't funny at all and his awkward demeanor gets really annoying after a while especially in the movie. Overall, I'd say it was worth the watch.

Yeah I kinda agree with this...maybe it was just keeping with the theme of the movie (self deprecating humor, everyone playing exaggerated versions of themselves) but that dude just comes off as pretentious. I couldn't tell if they were being serious during this part or if it was just an act

This Is The End - Forrest Gump

Guy had some funny parts tho

I was a little underwhelmed, but McBride's delivery is impeccable and is along worth the price of admission.

Frick those kinds of people.

The movie wasn't even anti-religion. For Christ's sake(pun intended ) they went to heaven in the end.

Anyways, if you can't laugh at something, because it makes fun of religion I feel sorry for you. I grew up in catholic schools and even the teachers who were mostly brothers/priests/etc. made jokes about religion.

Most people on here were raving about it. What the frick are you talking about?

Not in the thread I read. Or maybe the negative responses were so overwhelming that I missed the positive reviews. I remember one person being confused because they couldn't digure out if it was a comedy or a drama. That might be the most ludicrous post I've ever seen on Tigerdroppings, so it stuck with me.

I watched it during that same time, but I loved it. There were so many scenes and bits that had me rolling: everyone discussing Jay's desire to rape Hermoine, the scene with the Cannibals, The Exorcism of Jonah Hill, the musical finale, ect

It was one of the few comedy movies I've seen in the past year that really exceeded expectations.

I was kind of shocked by the lack of love it received here (though I don't know why I was shocked given the pretentiousness that reigns here).

Gotta love this stuff.

Was a funny movie, not like great by any means, but entertaining and clever. And it gets plenty of love here.

I loved This is the End, thought it was the funniest comedy I'd seen since The Hangover or Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

s this the next movie that is cool to hate now?
I don't know. The only exposure i had to it before renting it was previews and advertisements.

I'm not a big fan of that type of humor i guess. Didn't care for Pineapple Express or Superbad either. Maybe i'm getting old.

There were definitely some funny parts, but overall i was disappointed in it.

I would imagine her problem with it was the idea that being a nice person gets you to heaven.
