Need to update my Po Boy rankings for 2014

Bevi seafood looks to shake up my top 5 po boy list. Had the Smokey oyster po boy today. Nice fat oysters with pastrami bacon and smoked gouda.
Normally I get the roast beef when trying a new po boy place but since this is a seafood market I went with the oyster. The peacemaker will be my next victim so the roast beef will have to wait. Entrees look good too. Will be back soon.

I love sesame seeds on breads for burgers, but I can't recall seeing any bread like that for poboys. I would love it.

Bevi Seafood on Airline in Metairie, block or so off Clearview.

Me too. Mahoney's, Qwick Check, and Bevi only places I recall seeing it.

Damn. Looks and sounds great. Will have to try that. If you haven't been to Zimmer's you need to get over there and try their half oyster/half shrimp. Quality seafood and great seasoning on the batter.
also pick up a pint of their marinated crab salad

I'm pretty sure R&O's has that same bread also.

That Oyster looks damn fine!!
I need to check that out.
I did have a nice grilled eggplant today over at Milk Bar. Not in contention for top po boy but I'm not complaining.

Any of y'all remember Giamanco's here in BR? They used Italian loaves for poboys with sesame seeds. I still remember how good the oyster poboys were there. Buttered and toasted bread, tartar sauce and oysters. Delicious!

The first time through I read that as Pacemaker.
The meaning comes through totally different as Pacemaker.
Oyster Sammich looks good

Bevi is legit. Ask for the fried chicken skins if he has them that day. Spicy fried potatoes (boiled then flash fried) are pretty damn good as well.

That looks amazing but we all need an address

Do you know where Harry's Dive Shop is? Then you know where Bevi is.
His seafood gumbo is fantastic. Great boiled and live seafood.

I really like the poboys at Sammys Deli on Elysian fields. Great prices too.
The Ray Ray, Fried chicken breast topped with Chilesi's ham and swiss cheese.
$8.

Doesn't R&O's use them? Or have I lost my mind?

Well, shite.
Clearly it's time for me to stop being lazy and expand my geographic horizons. I limit myself too much to Uptown and the CBD/Warehouse District.

Bumping this because I'm going in June and need to find the best
Is there any sort of general consensus? Or does it depend on if you want seafood or meat??
