Age: 36
Race: Kraut/Mick/Injun mix
From: NELA. Highschooled in Rayvegas. Went to Jackson MS on a scholarship to play D2 basketball. Came back here.
Outdoor career: Started hunting with pops and pow pow when I was 0 years old. Shot a blue jay out the air with a crossman pellet gun at 5. Rolled up a swamp rabbit in front if our beagles at 6. Thus began a lifetime of blasting. Dad put me under a tree with a crack barrel .410 on opening dove when I was 8. I killed 11. 1 more than he did. Killed my first deer, a 3 pt later that year. When I was 14 my bro in law gave me a PSE fire flight and a handful of miss matched arrows. I took it hunting the next morning and drug a doe out about an hour after daylight. Not long after I upgraded and at one time had a streak of 17 shots 17 kills with my bow. Never killed a big buck with my bow. All does and scraps. Ive killed some nice deer with a rifle, but I've missed the two biggest deer I've ever seen. I love to fish, and can catch as many as whoever I go with. But absolutely suck at finding fish. I play more golf than I do fish nowadays.
Golf Handicap: 8.7

Yeah. When Tiger Woods was diagnosed with a "sex addiction," they sent him to Hattiesburg to end his obsession. In other words, there are women in Hattiesburg, but after you see em, you'll never want to have sex again.

Skinny, slow white boy
Grew up in Tallulah. Dad took me fishing and hunting when he could. Killed my first deer in Tensas Parish when I was bout 13, a massive 3-inch 3 point!
Came to BR for LSU and started hunting and fishing marshes around Lake Hermitage in college with my best friend. Deer hunt around Lake Mary and Centerville, Mississippi and Ascension Parish. Been on a duck hunt in North Dakota for the past three years and looking forward to getting back up there next year.
LSUballs, I went to the real TA, not the one in St. Broseph, la.

46yoa...half French/half Cajun
Started fishing with dad on banks of bayous with multiple rods set out for cats and goo. We drug a net for crawfish as bait. Some worms.
Caught a bass from the bank at IC when small and was hooked. Was bass from then on out until 3 years ago when bitten by The White perch.
Favorite waters: Toledo, Saline, Spring Bayou, Indian Creek, and Black lake.
I like 1/2 salt trips per year, but it's so easy I get bored with it.
Started hunting with Dad for whatever we saw. Goal was Squabbits, but mostly ended up with grackles/robins/yellowhammers. Started going squirrel hunting on my own after a while and that was my thing for years. Now, archery deer only unless invited to duck hunt.
Pretty much only hunt river bottomland.
No memories of Pow-Pows.

Age 36..
Parents from Breaux Bridge and St. Martinville.
Raised in the ATL suburbs and spent my summers in LA with the grandparents. Moved to FL better part of a decade ago.
Fished with my father a bit but he lost his passion for the outdoors when I was young. My brother and I fished bass and trout in GA and fished the Cypremort Point area when I was in LA.
Hunting was mostly small game and ducks until meeting what would turn out to be my best friend while in HS. He and his father introduced me to deer hunting as a late teen. His father was former military and started me with a single shot rifle and taught me to make the first shot count. When he put me in the stand he gave me a single cartridge and that was it. Gotta give the man a lot of credit for making me a pretty darn good marksman.
I was whitetail obsessed for a while. Traveled to a few States and Canada to hunt them. In 2000 I decided to pick up turkey hunting since I would be shed hunting in the Spring anyway. Through luck and happenstance I tagged two longbeards on the opening day of the 2001 season and I've been hooked ever since.
I've hunted bear, boars, muleys, gators, killed a P&Y caliber bull elk and have traveled pretty far and wide but turkeys remain my primary passion. I've recorded two World Slams and a couple of Grand Slams in my pursuit. I still get as excited now as I did a decade ago.

I'm sure we played against each other. Currently in a hunting club with several of your classmates.

Grew up all over the state, but parents were from south of Lafayette. The whole summer and Christmas break we spent with the grandparents /family hunting and fishing with them.
Started about six y/o fishing. Killed first teal on water at 8, first deer I was 11.Although my brother and I hunted with dad and grandfathers, my moms brother is probably the greatest outdoorsman I have ever met. He taught my brother and I everything. Some things he probably should not have(ie more ducks than supposed to), but shooting, safety, hunting and fishing. Thinking back on it lately made me appreciate all he did for us. My dad brought us plenty, but as an executive back in the 70's he didn't have lots of free time.
Spent most of my years mainly duck hunting and ran my dogs in AKC retriever trials for 16 years. My dad retired and brought my brother and I to Canada deer hunting 6 years ago. Got bit by the deer bug again and mostly deer hunt now. Only I now bring my nephews with me. I get more out of them killing the deer and being with them than if I had done it myself. Just passing it on

North Marion County (MS)
was a tag along on dove/rabbit hunts from the time i was knee high to a duck
family never deer hunted much until i was around 8-10. started going with my pop a couple of times a year. at 15, they turned me loose.
killed my first doe 1/6/99. killed my first buck (small 8) 1/7/99. killed a few more from then til now. some worth talking about, some not worth mentioning. i go through spurts where i love to deer hunt and where i'd rather do anything but. kids i helped raise are now becoming accomplished hunters and i enjoy seeing them succeed more than myself.
been fishing since i was old enough to hold a pole. tend to mostly stick to pond hopping and wading the crick. my little brother will forever be my favorite fishing partner. he's come a long way since the days of wanting to leave once the bait hit the bottom without a fish taking off

what you moving there for? USM? work? there are some pretty cool bars downtown. Brewsky's is where the Sorostitutes gather. Keg and Barrel is the finest establishment in the state as far as beer selection goes. Mahogany Bar connected to crescent city grill on Hardy Street is a good one too.
Hattiesburg has a surprisingly good live music scene. There is a facebook group that announces music stuff for the weekend if you do the facebook.

He DID come to Hburg for a bit for his rehab at Pine Grove with a guy who is world renowned for that kind of stuff.
Hattiesburg has some surprisingly decent talent. Probably not like Baton Rouge but if you can't find some strange on a weekend then you just aren't trying to be honest. The hipster population is increasing pretty quickly in the burg which isn't really my cup of tea but some of those hippy chicks kinda do it for me
