Was a Paramedic for 20 years. So… seen a lot of death over those years. I think average Paramedic works 2 years and quits. Either you can deal with it or you cannot.
re: Anyone ever do a hunt in Canada?

Hunted Canada last several years except 2 COVID years. Always bring my own gun and have never had a problem. Just leave enough time between flights when you enter the country.
Do not fly through Toronto if you can avoid it at all. Go through Newark to fly to Halifax. Then to Newfoundland. US customs in Toronto is a giant pain.
Best part of Newfoundland moose is you can have all your meat shipped back to US and you pick it up. Used to be able to go to Mobile. Last time drove to Tulsa and got 300 lbs of meat.

You can try a paint roller in hallway. One of the small ones. Only use it for retrieving and don’t give it to her any other time as a toy. But, as others have said, sometimes they just don’t have it in them. I have field trialed retrievers and every once in a while there will be one who doesn’t have the desire to retrieve.
re: Ever try to exit a store through a marked exit and it was locked?

You are going to catch hell here, but good for you.
Many of the worst fires involving fatalities were the result of locked exit doors. Once the fire occurs, it’s too late to take those things back.
In this case you did something before someone was hurt or worse.
OSHA fines are going to heavily depend on whether that particular location has been previously warned and fined in the past. They will likely not be severe if it is the first time. But if OSHA has been there before and the actions are deemed willful, they will greatly increase the fine.
The other problem may be the size of the company. Unfortunately, many large companies get fines reduced or removed that wouldn’t happen for a smaller company.

re: Hunting Dog Stories

Red Fern was my favorite book ever and probably the reason I always have a hunting dog
I had a Lab that was an FC AFC. A salesman I dealt with told me that he heard that Field trial dogs could not hunt. I agreed that some do not hunt, but a vast majority can and mine really could. He said he would book a hunt to go goose hunting and for me to bring my dog.
That morning the specks were raining down on us. Then a group of snows/blues comes over, knocked one down but another glided several hundred yards away. The guide said dont worry about that one. Went back to shooting specks.
We killed the limit of specks. Guide asked if we would pick up the decoys, he was going to walk to get the snow that sailed. The wind was blowing hard right to left and told him I would send my dog. The guide laughed and said you dont have an idea about how far that is in a rice field. I laughed and sent the dog. Probably every bit of 400 yds maybe more. He crossed the levee out of sight and about 3 minutes later came back with the white goose in his mouth.
I knew he would get downwind of it by running that far. We ran way worse blinds in the trials.
Got back to lodge and ended up running about 20 blind retrieves so everyone there could watch him handle.
He died of cancer about 6 years ago but every year for duck season I tell my wife how much I miss him. I dont think I will ever again own one that good. I have had a lot of dogs and ran trials for 14 years. He was by far the best one I ever had.

I tried plenty of times but never could kick it
Then I tried Smoky Mountain Herbal Snuff, got over the nicotine
Then chewed gum to get over the oral habit and quit the herbal snuff
It has been a couple years now

Not sure when the last time you went to Canada. My nephew had a DUI and they held him up for close to 2 hours in Saskatoon. It was like they were not going to let him in at all, then they suddenly decided he could pay a fee and be allowed in Canada. Almost every outfitter I have dealt with the last few years asks now if you have a dui because of the crap
I only brought up the bino' sand stuff because the last time I came through Denver the guy was kind of an a$$ and threatened to charge me taxes on items I owned because they were not on the 4457. So I now just leave them in suitcase
Just easier that way

Well not exactly.
Just never had them look in my suitcase for anything. But they will look at everything in your gun case

Just FYI, Baton Rouge customs requires that you make an appointment.
It is also kind of ridiculous that you are supposed to put any item that you carry out of the country, such as laptops, cameras etc..on the 4457 form. I usually put my binos and rangefinder in my gun case. Customs in Denver gave me a hard time and said he could charge me taxes on the items not on the 4457. Because I did not have them documented on the form, he said I could have purchased them in Canada. I just put them in my suitcase now. Not going through the trouble of bringing all that to the customs office
Don't know if this applies or if you know, but if you have a DUI on your record, prepare for a nightmare. They will ultimately have you pay a "fee" to enter after they delay you forever. I guess there may be something that you can do ahead of time to avoid the delay.

Last time I went through Edmonton they let you fax in the Canadian Firearms form and pay fees by credit card. Edmonton and Calgary have been the easiest places to go through in my experience
Make sure you get a US customs 4457 done before you go. I have an appointment in Baton Rouge next week to get mine signed by customs. I am going to BC for the first time end of next month. I guess I will learn how it is to deal with Canadian customs in Vancouver.
If you get their form completed and processed ahead of time, they usually just look at serial number on gun and match it against the form. Usually pretty quick
I have always had more trouble coming back to US than getting anything done in Canada. But it is usually just waiting time more than anything.

Are you eligible for the CSP? Though if you can get the ASP and military you will be in pretty good shape. ASP and CSP are preferred over most of the others. Take a good prep class for the ASP and its not really that bad. Long test but not that bad
Definitely green sunfish
I know they say to get rid of them, but I have tried getting rid of them in my pond with rotenone and restocking. They always end up back in there. I gave up on getting rid of them

Awesome pics
I know it varies but how often do you see this, I guess say out of a month?
I will be moose hunting for 10 days in Yukon come September and I am really hoping to see them once.

Have you had surgery?
At 32 I had exactly the same thing. Listhesis at L5-S1 plus the other things.
I was in the medical field and had a lot of people tell me not to have surgery. I finally thought that I could not take it any more and had the fusion. Pain is relative. What you think is a 10/10 today may be a 6/10 in 6 months.
If I could go back and redo one thing in my life, it would be not having that surgery.
Ten years later I continue to have trouble every day. The first surgery failed to fuse, had a revision done from the front to L5 S1.
I have had the discs at the two levels above the fusion herniate and rupture, requiring 2 more surgeries.
Oddly enough, the only thing that keeps that pain bearable at this point is exercise. If I miss a day, I know it. I ride a bike daily.
My advice is find a book called "Heal your own back" or the McKenzie Method and follow it religiously. This includes all manner of posture, forget about what sitting in a recliner feels like.Exercise daily and strengthen your core muscles.
Just my two cents from someone who has been there

Stay with Mckenzie. Follow it all. That means chunk recliners and learn to watch posture
I have fought this shite for 14 years. I was in medical field and knew better but ended up jumping the gun on surgery. Now have had 4 surgeries. Pain is relative. What I thought was a 10 before surgery would have been a 5 after
Hold off on surgery until there is no other option. It may take a while but stay on Mckenzie. It really will work. Just not overnight

Other than stolen Swarovski's
Buy the Vortex
The vortex I have are clear and are pretty nice for the price
The only thing that the Swarovski's are better at are in low light. First thing in the morning and right at dark is where you can tell any difference between the two IMO

I went back and was trying to figure where I heard about the water in ULSD after earlier post
Then I recalled when I was looking at 6.7 I looked on powerstroke.org and saw most of that and dealer confirmed it about the 2011-2013 fuel system problems
They have a lot of people saying same thing on there
It may likely be Ford's way of getting out of warranty
Personally, if I didn't have to have the damn truck to pull, I would prefer a 150 with a gas engine
The two 6.0's I had ate a hole in my arse
And I am meticulous about maintenance

Only telling you what the for dealer told me
I had 2 6.0's that blew up
I have a 2014 6.7
When I purchased it the only thing I knew about was some fuel problems
If I am wrong I apologize and stand corrected

They say there is that much in ULSD
On the 6.7's Ford said to drain the filter module monthly to rid it of water. I am sure most people dont do that
Plus Ford made the fuel system from a mild steel I believe and then the water in the fuel pits everything. Over time it causes the pump to go out. I think the entire system has to be changed to the tune of about $7K
Ford says not their fault there is water in the diesel
But it is their fault they used materials that could not hold up to current diesel specs
