28, born and raised in Greenwell Springs, live in BR now. Dad moved here from Colorado when he was 20, arriving with a 9.5 Johnson outboard in the trunk of his car and took up hunting and fishing. We fished more than we hunted when I was young, primarily out of Theriot and Golden Meadow. Now we have duck leases in Maringouin and Abbeville and he has a camp on Bayou Rigaud in Grand Isle. First hunt was of the squirrel variety, 4-10 crackbarrel that I discharged into the ground after cocking it and then losing the squirrel. That event put a healthy fear of God into me when it came to firearms. Never killed a deer, but I blasted an elk in Idaho last year (high fence, company trip, forgive me). Give me Browning shotguns and a Shimano Curado on an Allstar Coastal rod and I'm real easy to get along with.

Reid is my cousin and Whitney Green is a friend of mine. They both worked for me as interns one year when I was working for my Dad's company. They figured out that the Timber Bidness was not as fun as it looked. All they did was mark boundary lines all summer.

29. Lived all over from San Fran, Columbus, LA, Houston, Cincinnati, BR and Shreveport. After college in BR, moved to Shreveport and been here since then. Duck hunt in SW Ark with my uncle at his place as often as I can and bass fish Cross Lake and ponds around south Shreveport. Never kilt a dur and still not sure when I will decide to take it up. Didn't grow up fishing or hunting due to dad's work load but took to it on my own when I was young.

Originally from Madisonville, currently live in BR for LSU, moving to Lafayette for Grad School this summer.

Can't remember my first time fishing... so young. Family owned an on-the-water camp off Bay Batiste, that Katrina took from us. Best times of my life at that camp. Would always go fishing with my uncle but mostly my papa in our little 18' War Eagle flat. Remember vividly fishing off the end of the dock after duck hunts in the winter, we would clean 'em and take the gizzards throw 'em on a hook and pull up some damn nice redfish sometimes drum, but mostly redfish.

I can thank mostly my papa and uncles for teaching me what I know now. Papa always took me fishing. Godfather/uncle took me duck hunting alot and offshore fishing, also bought me all the guns I own as well as preached to me about safety. Another uncle always took me deer hunting, killed my first deer with him at 13 I think.

Currently holding:

Remington 700 .243
Benelli SBEII
Old Remington 870 Youth Magnum 20 gauge

Deer hunt: Utica, MS
Duck hunt: Big Branch NWR
Fish: wherever I can get a ride.

35 lived all my life except 6 months in raceland la. Started duck hunting at 4. Would mostly sleep on the deck of our old wooden puttputt in a sleeping bag. Killed my first deers at the age of 13. My papere was the greatest coonass that ever lived. He passed from alzheimers when I was 13. The only camouflage he owned was a caterpillar cap. My dad has taught me pretty much all I know about hunting and fishing.

oh im as white as unused toilet paper and it's pronounced pee-rawg

It has gone down since the freeze. I just hope it doesnt come up again. Brother in law and MIL live on the lake and it was getting bad last fall. My family has property on Bistineau and I have seen how bad that salvania can get.

38 Born in Baton Rouge, now live in Lower Livingston Parish on the Diversion.

Started hunting and fishing with my grandfather till he passed away when I was in 5th grade. Started hunting and fishing again in high school with friends; my dad never had an interest in hunting or fishing. Deer hunted for a number of years until I realized that I liked everything about deer hunting except getting up early and sitting on a cold deer stand waiting for deer.

Started transitioning into duck hunting at this point and got my first shorthair shortly after. Trained him to retrieve and quickly learned that he wanted to hunt birds. Figured I would give quail hunting a try to I learned that quail in huntable numbers were all but gone from South Louisiana.

choupiquesushi and I were on another forum many years ago and he guided me into the world of woodcock hunting. I have 3 dogs now, can hunt alone or with friends. Don't have to get up early, even when it is cold the weather feels good because I am walking, etc...

I mainly carry side by side shotguns bird hunting

I make a couple of coastal saltwater trips a year, just not as much time as I would like with 2 kids and their activities...

26, spent my early years traveling and being a military brat. 3rd grade on lived in hattiesburg, ms. now reside in ocean springs, ms. dad never was much of a hunter, took me fishing a few times. I took to fishing on my own and spent the majority of my time freshwater fishing. About 5 years ago got big into saltwater fishing and never looked back. Just recently got into hunting. Killed my first doe this season and shortly thereafter purchased my first two guns. Ruger 10/22 and Remington 700 .270. Addicted now. Can't wait to really spend a whole season out in the woods and learn a whole lot more than i do now. I've learned a ton from this board but got a ways to go.
